For the last 6 year, my son and I have had our hair cut by a woman at a different salon... but... she went to tech school to learn how to be a dental assistant, and now works for a dentist.
Yes - we were forced to find another hair person, and have tried several places over the last few months.
Went to Sport Clips of "VA Center Station", near the Virginia Center Commons mall, located at 1070 Virginia Center Pkwy, Suite #103, in Glen Allen, VA. I used their website's online reservation system, which required me to create an account first. Did not really like having to create an account, but it worked OK.
All morning long the online app said that they had a 50 to 60 minute wait, so I registered and checked in, then the system told me what time to arrive. I arrived about 3 minutes earlier than recommended, and was taken by the next available stylist within 5 minutes. Good deal.
The stylist's name was Melissa, and I think that we have found a keeper. She really took her time asking about how my former stylist cut my hair, and how I liked to wear it. Once she got going, the cut took about 15 minutes and was right on the mark.
Melissa seemed to really care about her work, she was very pleasant to talk to, and she did a great job. The place is a bit pricier than where I went before, but I think that is OK as long as the experience continues to be as good as it was today.
Melissa also gave me a card to give out to someone else, letting them come try the place for free, and that's going to go to our son so he can judge for himself.
Good hair cut. Did not have to wait too long (arrived when the online system told me too). Nice staff. I will be back.
