Allie did an amazing job on my balayage, root color, blow dry and style! I get super anxious about cutting and coloring my hair and she was very patient and attentive during the process, answered my questions and was nice to chat with as well. Definitely recommend going to her for her expertise and experience!

Best salon for hair coloring! I was recommended here by a friend who has used their service before. This is the first time I do balayage, aka bleach my hair. I dyed my hair before and it ended up to be very drying and damaging even without bleach. I went to 3 different hair salons for consultations on balayage and with my friend's recommendation, I gave D Rock a try. When I first got to the salon. My hair was brown-ish from multiple dyes. I wanted to go platinum but was advised against it as it could be more damaging to my hair. They spent 30 minutes to consult with me for the color I wanted, and offer multiple options and style that could best fit my hair current health. My hair artist was Nikki Tran. She was very patient and absolutely the best with coloring! I wanted something red/pink, and the result is as in the picture. The process took about 6 hours. I got a lot of compliments. The color, despite being semi-permanent color as most pop colors are, lasted a good 2-3 months before it fades out. My hair was also very soft after the session. For the price and the result I got, I would say it was quite cheap. I got quoted $500 for my hair before somewhere else. Nikki also recommended me to use FusionPlex hair mask instead of just regular conditioner to care for my hair. My hair right now, after bleach and dye, is so much healthier than before I even go to D-Rock. Highly recommend!

I got my appointment online- very easy to do and straightforward (even includes prices) They send phone notifications and email notifications v regularly so you don’t forget. D-rock is clean and the assistant, Mrs.Kim, and my stylist were nice and courteous. I got my balayage done by Allie. She was very honest, because it was my first time w her- esp w my dark and thick hair, may have to do 3-4 sessions. I also do have a lot of hair 😅 she even told me what she’s going to do so I’m not left blinded, v considerate and checked in regularly while we waited the bleach to do it’s thing. 4 hrs later, I got the ash grey I wanted(and expected) in 1 session and will only need 1 more session if I want to be closer to what I want. My hair though thick and dark really takes very well to bleach- so please don’t expect your super dark hair to be a beach blonde babe in 1 session. Will see Allie again in November for my second session!

Great salon! Their website makes it easy to get to know their stylists and book an appointment. Prices are dependent on the stylist and their mastery level. Be sure to budget 50% more than the listed price, just to be on the safe side. Tips must be in cash. They have an ATM inside the salon in case you don't have cash. My stylist was Yamil and my cousin had Brittany. Both did a great job with our color. We both went in for the balayage service. We had inspiration photos and after being reviewed by each stylist, they made great suggestions and the outcome was better than the inspiration photos. They are knowledgeable and professional. They don't sell services that you don't need. They're honest and not pushy. The salon is a great space. Very clean and they're constantly sanitizing after each guest. They check your temp at the door and you have to sign a waiver concerning Covid19. They provide you with a robe to wear over your clothes. They're doing the best they can to limit the spread of Covid19. Salon can be busy but they are very efficient in their process. Angela was the assistant when I was there and she is such a hard worker! She takes care of everyone from cleaning, sanitizing and washing your hair. After a visit to this salon, you'll never want to go anywhere else.

I'm visiting from out of town because my mom is sick and I desperately needed a haircut; D Rick is close to mom's house. I called and (surprisingly) was able to get a same-day appointment. The salon is beautifully decorated and feels very chic. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Heelan (Helen) greeted me warmly and escorted me to her station. We discussed the style I wanted and then she escorted me to the wash station. Now, I've had a lot of hair washes at hair salons, but this was THE BEST I have ever had! First of all there was a massaging chair at the wash station. Rosemary washed my hair and gave a head massage and scrubbing like no other. I didn't want to leave the chair! Heelan escorted me back to her station and got to work. She was gentle and asked questions to make sure I got the cut I wanted. When she was done, she tweaked it a little to meet my requests. She was phenomenal. I highly recommend this lovely salon in Fairfax. It far exceeded my expectations and I will surely visit again if given the opportunity.
