As salons begin opening in the area I do not suggest you visit this salon until COVID-19 tapers off. Although I was informed I would be coming in under "strict conditions" the owner, Habibah, did not wear a mask or gloves when she was doing hair. Nor did she wash her hands or sanitize tools when she switched from one client to myself and back. When she had someone else come in to do my hair (Habibah forgot my 11:30AM appointment and I had to wait almost two hours to get in the chair at 1:20PM), I did not witness the young lady wash her hands or sanitize equipment. Additionally, were two other clients in the salon, one of which brought a child in, and neither had masks on. While getting my hair done I heard Habibah say she didn't bother with masks because cloth ones didn't have filters and she didn't feel like making any of her own. Yes, it's true, they're not as efficient, but it's at least an attempt to show you're taking the pandemic seriously and that you at least care about your clients and coworkers. She also complained about being scared of COVID-19, which I get and I wore my own masks to reduce risk. But if you're scared either take preventable measures or don't open up shop and continue your 'vacation time' as Habibah put it. I'm not knocking styling skills because she certainly has them, but the lack of professionalism and care for clients isn't ever appropriate when that's currently a top priority at this time.
