Very Nice establishment, Ms. Habibah Y. owner Great place to learn the art of beauty, style, and grace. Well educated staff that will have looking sharp walking out their doors. Shawn Stokes my barber always on point, he and the others can shape your look to what you need....

The only bad thing I'd say is the person who braided my hair didn't really bother, I'd washed it but that's all I did. As rough as my hair was she didn't bother to do anything more she just braided it, very painfully mind you, and left it at that. The styling wasn't really bad but when I left there, after paying a rediculus amount of money, I was very disappointed. Not to mention my head really hurt.

I made 2 appointments for 9 and 10 am. After waiting for 2 hours, we left WITHOUT both my sons' hair not done. No one even showed up to the business. Multiple emails and phone calls tell me that she was on her way. They are VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I will never do business with BLACK DIAMOND.

I hate to say this because my previous experience was a thousand times better, but always ask who will be doing your hair and how much experience they have doing that particular style. I got faux locs and sadly I had to take them out due to how tight they were and several braids coming undone. All in all, a total of five people braided my hair: two of the owners students both who have not done faux locs before and the owner and her two daughters. I am very dissapointed in the service I recieved compared to my first time where a more experienced stylist had did my hair. I understand doing locs can be time consusing but having one of the newer students not even really focusing on completing the task but hoping between my hair and her phone just felt insulting. I have other complaints but this is already long enough and I will be taking my business else where.

As salons begin opening in the area I do not suggest you visit this salon until COVID-19 tapers off. Although I was informed I would be coming in under "strict conditions" the owner, Habibah, did not wear a mask or gloves when she was doing hair. Nor did she wash her hands or sanitize tools when she switched from one client to myself and back. When she had someone else come in to do my hair (Habibah forgot my 11:30AM appointment and I had to wait almost two hours to get in the chair at 1:20PM), I did not witness the young lady wash her hands or sanitize equipment. Additionally, were two other clients in the salon, one of which brought a child in, and neither had masks on. While getting my hair done I heard Habibah say she didn't bother with masks because cloth ones didn't have filters and she didn't feel like making any of her own. Yes, it's true, they're not as efficient, but it's at least an attempt to show you're taking the pandemic seriously and that you at least care about your clients and coworkers. She also complained about being scared of COVID-19, which I get and I wore my own masks to reduce risk. But if you're scared either take preventable measures or don't open up shop and continue your 'vacation time' as Habibah put it. I'm not knocking styling skills because she certainly has them, but the lack of professionalism and care for clients isn't ever appropriate when that's currently a top priority at this time.
