I previously wrote a highly positive review of Chantal and her services, and I'm sad to say I feel inclined to change that review now after feeling ripped-off, berated, blamed, and offered extremely poor follow-up care.
I had hair extensions installed by Chantal to cover up thinning and bald spots I have on my scalp from a hair loss condition, to make my hair look natural. While the work always seemed well-done at first, the extensions had continuous problems within only a week or two, when they should've lasted a couple months. They were coming loose or completely falling out weeks before they should've needed any maintenance, despite me personally taking excellent care of them, and following all instructions.
When I contacted Chantal about these problems, she chose to make false claims about what she'd originally told/offered me, became extremely defensive of her work, insisting that it couldn't possibly be her fault, and blamed me for the problem. She has been rude and curt with me every time I bring up an issue. Now, having spent $1,300 in two months simply trying to fix and maintain eight strips of hair, and having had two of them fall out since the last fix a week ago, she seems no longer willing to help me and will only do a different type of extensions for another $1,500.
I know that because of my hair loss, I don't have extremely easy hair to work with, but considering Chantal's insistence that she's worked with the same hair loss condition in other clients and "never, ever had these problems before", I know it's not just my thin hair. But rather than making an effort to address whatever problem is causing my extensions to fail so quickly so that I can be happy with them, she always immediately jumps on the defensive, and goes on and on about how it is in no way her fault (even though I haven't accused her of any such thing), instead pinning the blame on me. It's my opinion that if you're going to charge someone that much money to install something, you should ensure that the installation has been done correctly, and fix it if there's a problem that shouldn't be happening - I believe that's just good business practice.
But Chantal berates me, blames me, and doesn't let me get a word in edge-wise in person. She goes on and on about how she cares for her clients and only wants to help, and while she sometimes comes across as a very caring person, she shows her true colors in that she is rude and tremendously difficult to talk to about any problems.
Overall, I am not satisfied with the services I've received from her, and I'm extremely disappointed with how I've been treated by her.
