I'd like to start off by saying: the friendliness in that establishment needs to go up. The older lady I talked to was rude and curt. And she was angry at my friend after my friend almost passed out after her nose piercing.
Secondly: they gave me so much incorrect evidence.
1. I went in after getting my second lobes pierced inquiring about a saline solution, the owner (I presume) told me, no no, saline solution is NOT recommended for piercings as it's just water and a bit of sodium chloride. I asked every other piercer in leduc and a couple in Edmonton. It IS the BEST thing to use on a piercing. The APP agrees too.
2. Instead she gave me a Studex lotion. Let's start off with the fact Studex makes PIERCING GUNS. So you can imagine they're unknowledgeable about piercings. Well the second ingredient in that lotion is Benzalkonium Chloride (.1%), and the third is alcohol SDAG 3 (10%) and then a couple of DYES. Both benzalkonium chloride and alcohol are NOT recommended for piercing as they're too harsh and cause irritation. Again, thanks to the APP (search it up if you don't know what the APP is). I used it on my helix piercing when I ran out of my solution my piercer gave me. It gave me a hypertrophic scar because it's so irritating.
3. The owner doesn't even know what a helix piercing is. I was chatting with her and pointed to my helix and she told me "no that's a upper ear piercing" and pointed to somewhere else on her ear. Which is NOT the helix. As I got my helix pierced and it's exactly where I said it was.
Now I don't know about everyone. But I don't want to get pierced by someone who's so blatantly oblivious to what you should use for piercings and where a piercing is.
