Walked in to see if they had any openings - the three women working were all standing around talking; all three looked at me like I was dirt (yea, my hair is a bit shaggy, I've been working in the bush, hence needing a haircut...I'm not a long nails and straightened hair sorta lady either.) All three were too busy to take me. I asked if they had any openings for the rest of the day. They kinda looked at each other, each uttering, 'Oh no, I have XX person...' I say, okay then, make a friendly joke and leave. I go around the corner, buy a book, and then realize, 'Hey, they didn't ask me if I wanted an appointment for another day.' I went back, not really realizing the game yet, and asked if I could book. They took it, all with that nervous fake laughter...obviously they had time for me - they were all still standing around 15 minutes later. Obviously they did not want my business from the get go. So, in the end, this place is stuck up, pretentious, and I will find another place to give my money.
This was all a bit jarring for me as I am new to Rupert/Port Edward actually, and pretty well every other person I have met has been very friendly and open, even just random people on the street.
