Iâ€™ve messaged the owner to contact me regarding this but have not yet made contact. I expected to be serviced by a graduate of an esthetics program .the service provider didnâ€™t appear to know the basics of a pedicure like turning on the lamp. Her angle on brushing my feet was so off she caused an abrasion on my ankle. My concern grew during the course of the service and when I questioned her I found out she was a student who was on a work term and would not graduate until June!!! I was not informed that I was being serviced by a student and yet I had to pay full price ! If I wanted a student I could have gone to Academy Canada. I feel this was deceptive as a paying full price client. It was unfair to the student as she did not process the knowledge skills or competency to perform a pedicure independently. Instead of relaxation I came away with harm and stress. This is not what I expected to pay for. I have been a frequent loyal customer of this spa until now. I expect that I should have been informed up front that a student was an option and been give the choice as informed consent. Instead I was not informed by the staff and had to find out during my own questioning that the service provider was a student. Also I should not have paid full price !!! Very disappointing plus the physical harm and psychological stress. This should not happen to anyone else hence my reason for the feedback in this review. Update. Tuesday Just received follow up phone call from owner. Had a fabulous discussion of learnings from this event Explanations were provided apology given complimentary pedicure and most important help will be provided to the student to ensure her future success . Thank you Soothe from turning disappointment into confidence !sadly does not address the implied verses informed consent process. But will persevere with trying to educate with your help The nail polish that usually lasts a couple of months is now gone. This must be related to my pedicure. Although Iâ€™ve been given a free pedicure Iâ€™m reluctant to go back to Soothe because Iâ€™m so disappointed with their lack of informed consent verses implied consent. Donâ€™t take for granted you are getting a seasoned professional but be customer savvy that you may get a student Ask inquire to who is providing your service Donâ€™t be like me and get a student though passed at Academy Canada couldnâ€™t perform the services paid for. If and if I go back they will have to make up for this terrible experience Will I take the chance? I hope I can. Weâ€™ll see I ve decided that I should have been offered a refund and or a free pedicure. Iâ€™ve now decided a refund would have better served me and the spa owners. Iâ€™m now trapped back into Soothe Spa for a pedicure I no longer want from them instead of being offered a full refund to go elsewhere. Buyer beware !!! I will no longer be a client of this deception so the free pedicure can go to someone else on my behalf

I love going to Soothe Spa! The staff is so attentive and friendly. They take the time to ensure that you are comfortable. Every time I go, I leave feeling so pampered and refreshed. It's the perfect place to unwind and just relax in this beautiful environment. I highly recommend Soothe Downtown Spa!
