I visited this salon because I saw multiple locals rave about it. I won't be coming back. For the price I paid, the service and results were lackluster. When I walked in, Jameel didn't try to engage in conversation at all, and only showed excitement towards others in his salon. It made me feel like he didn't really care about me. It would have taken the experience to the next level to perhaps be offered water/tea/coffee/espresso as a client sitting there for the next few hours. I've experience this at other salons before and it would have really added a nice personal touch. When I asked for ombre, Jameel basically tried to talk me out of it, and insisted we do balayage instead. I honestly got the feeling that he just didn't want to do the work ombre involves, and that it wasn't because he was actually trying to give me good advice. One thing that I just can't forget, which was small but it made my jaw drop as to how unprofessional the experience felt: During the time my hair was getting done, both Jameel and the other lady that was doing my hair as well BOTH asked me to use the timer on my phone instead of setting their own timer on their phone or using a traditional ringing timer. Apparently, they actually expected me to yell at/towards them when my timer went off to let them know my hair was done whatever process it was in. Like... what...? No. Just no. Absolutely no. Paying hundreds of dollars, I would never have expected to be treated like this. It was just disrespectful and embarrassing. I left with my hair looking ok, but I wasn't in love. I feel like Jameel was set on doing what he wanted to do with my hair and it didn't really matter what I wanted. I also got a very attitude and annoying vibe from him both towards me as well as how he acted towards others in the salon. A somewhat patronizing vibe. The responses I've also seen him/the owners write here to some of these reviews are also quite shocking and extremely unprofessional, like they are written by a child with a temper tantrum. I really don't know how people would be able to work with him for more than a few hours to be completely honest. By the time I was leaving the salon, I was just glad to be out of there.
