I saw my neighbor get a decent hair cut, asked him about it. He told me this was the place and the best part - 15$.
I arrived at the location. After a short wait I was called up. The staff had good haircuts, I thought it can't be too bad. I showed the hairdresser what haircut I wanted on my phone, after looking at the pictures for a split second he said no problem. 10 minutes later my haircut was done. The back top was sticking out, the top in general was too long and the front was a bit uneven. The questions the hairdresser asked were indecipherable. After asking him three times to clarify what he said, his resonse was: "oh okay". I guess his english isn't the best, but that's not important as a hairdresser. What is important is the haircut, and let god be my witness: it was not really what I asked for. When he asked me if my hair was ok while showing me the back of my head in the mirror with uneven hair, looking real messy, I understood that tge $15 price tag has its down sides.
I went to pay, gave him the $15 cash, and he asked me; "you're not going to leave a tip?". I asked him what he meant - he pointed at the reception table where a printed page said "tips not included in the haircut price". Essentially I was guilt tripped into leaving a tip for a haircut that I did not really feel like leaving a tip for.
(Owners if you are reading this, we know you can tip hairdressers, we see multiple signs that say you can tip the hairdresser. If we are not offering to leave a tip, we do not want to leave a tip. We came here because the haircut is $15.)
I guess you get what you pay for. I will try to get a different hair dresser to work on my hair if I come here again, or maybe be a bit more upright with what I need from the haircut next time.
I am giving 4 stars because this place did not suit my character. I felt like I got pushed around a little bit and taken advantage of. I also did not like my haircut too much, but its still good. However, I want to reiterate, my neighbor got a really good haircut here.
People who speak chinese will not have a communication problem (because I think the hairdressers speak chinese) and probably get better experience in this place.
About 5 places within 2km charge $25+. The price is what lured me in. I just expected a bit better.
My wife said the haircut made me a "square head".
My mother said it is a good haircut for $17.
