I'm not one to normally write reviews, but after the nightmare experience I've had I need to share. I had gotten my haircut at this salon a few times. The price was good for the simplicity of what I get done and hair grows back if they screw it up. However, I decided after having my natural hair color for the last 6 years that I wanted to do something fun and dye it again. I wanted pink tips underneath because it was something I've always wanted to do and always worked jobs that weren't okay with different hair colors - The place I am at now embraces originality and so I wanted to finally do it.
My stylist, who is a "color expert" was nice and I've had her before but something was always getting lost in translation. This time, I was saying pink underneath she was saying balayage. I said no, more subtle, pink underneath, and brown on top. I didn't want my entire head pink. After paying almost $150, the dye job was almost unnoticeable in the front but she told me that you could see it from the back. I trusted her since I couldn't see it from the back and since I had never had it done before I figured that was correct. So I left the salon and for the next few days I showed my friends my new hair, all who said it was barely noticeable, looked completely brown, and that it looked terrible and I needed to go back to get it fixed. Seeing as they could see what I couldn't I called to schedule to get it fixed to what I wanted. I was told I would get a call back and had to call 2 more times to finally speak to someone because they weren't calling me back.
Almost every time I have ever gone to get my hair done, have had a friend get their hair done, family etc. If you aren't happy with it, they fix it for you. However, I was told that I "was notified it would fade" - fading wasn't the issue, the issue was that it looked bad right after I got it done. Then, I was told that they would fix it but they would have to charge me. I told them I was not going to pay another $150 to have fixed what they didn't do right the first time. They said they would have their manager call me to schedule to have it fixed - and I never heard from anyone after that.
I called the corporate office and sent an email to the complaints department, who all told me that the salon should fix it free of charge, but that I would have to talk to the individual salon. Who wasn't returning my calls. So I tried to dispute the charge with my bank, I sent in the photos of the before and after showing that my hair looked exactly the same and that you couldn't see any color and that the service was not what I paid for. My bank returned the money, only to have to tell me that they would need to take it back because the salon was disputing my right to dispute the charge.
I have been in an ongoing battle back and forth for the last month and a half and NOW I have been told that I have to get a written explanation on company letterhead from another salon explaining the steps needed to fix the problem in order to get my money back. So now I have weird blonde streaks in the back of my head that are clumpy but luckily can't be seen with my hair down.
Don't waste your money. They are not color experts. If you're going to pay $150 go somewhere that is worth the $150. I am still going to continue to try to get my money back.
