I finally did a deva cut!! This was after having bounced around to different salons with mediocre results but my last straw was when I went to a salon in Calabasas and left with not only a crappy cut but for some reason also super duper dry hair from I can only guess too much sulfate shampoo? I spoke with the manager who offered a free re-cut with her but I decided they really just weren't skilled with curly hair.
Anyhow.......back to Capella, I saw Janaye for my very first deva cut. I honestly and immediately felt comfortable with her as she was cutting my hair. She was late for her appointment but I think she is worth waiting for. The haircut looked great! My curls felt extra bouncy and conditioned and was a mood lifter. The salon experience felt special but was not pretentious.which is very unique for high end salons. Its a great feeling to be in a curly girl salon where they know not to rough up your curls with towels and can suggest certain products. I was already familiar with the devacurl line but she suggested certain ones for my specific curls. I'm enjoying the Melt deep conditioner which I had failed to do in the past with these products and felt that they weren't working after a while because my ends were very dry but I just needed to do the weekly deep condition. It does come at a price which I cannot regularly afford , maybe as a treat once a year BUT I do recommend every curly girl try them at least once!!
