*EDIT: I WENT TO A DIFFERENT STORE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO GIVE ME MY BDAY GIFT THE DAY BEFORE MY BDAY. ALSO, GUESS WHAT?! I never got my bday email due to the technical issue.* 🙄
Love how it’s my bday and their system says that AND I have my license. I tell them I haven’t gotten emails since January from Ulta. The cashier was okay, I saw her glanced at her coworker like saying “this girl really wants that bday gift that bad 🙄.” I get it. I was a retail person and I HATED when people did petty stuff like that but come on, I’m not giving you any attitude, I’m being quiet and just wanna find a resolution. Why couldn’t she be like, let me see if my manager can pull up a code for the bday. I work Customer Service and I GET THAT THERE ARE POLICIES but come on, I wasn’t being rude, I needed an answer. I call guest services in front of them and the lady didn’t know the answer either, well decent customer service would be, you have an inconvenience, you shouldn’t return the very next day and when you’re already here.
I’ve always received the email days before my bday and maybe this year it did changed, but WHY MAKE ME COME BACK WHEN IM ALREADY HERE?! It was a gift card for MY bday, I’m not spending any money but I have for YEARS. Guess I’ll spend this gift card at another store. And I won’t be immature and say, “never going to shop at Ulta again.” Cus I know that just make us customer service reps giggle but honestly, kinda disappointed that this could’ve been handled differently, that’s all I ask for. Maybe you can’t bend the rules, I understand but if you see me there waiting for answer, couldn’t a manager said something?
But at least the Cashier I got wasn’t obnoxious, she showed some concern and maybe she was trained not to escalate small issues but like, make someone come back on their bday (the very next day) when they’re already here?!
