Philip James salon has done my hair for the past year and I've always left happy. From color, to extensions, cut and style their work is quality.

I have been going to Phillip James Salon for about 5 years and have never been disappointed. The staff (Jim, Claudine and Dana) are all very laid back and extremely good at what they do. My hair extensions always look great, are extremely affordable and I obviously like them because I keep coming back. The hair is excellent quality and Jim always gives me great suggestions on how to make my extensions last longer and to keep them extensions looking great. I am always able to get an appointment when I need one and if I need a quick touch-up or adjustment, I can usually get in the same afternoon. I highly recommend the Phillip James Salon - and can't imagine going anyplace else in Chicago.

I read the review below. And I will say, I came into the salon originally wanting a different application method. I was advised against it by Jim, and have never looked back. Maybe less so advised than, "well, we are going to do it this way instead." I was a bit annoyed, as I had experience with another method and liked it. I was not looking for a change. BUT! He was right. And I'm glad I went with it. Much less breakage and damage to my real hair this way. They are very professional, get you in extremely quickly, and are quick with their work too. Last time I had mine tightened, he did not wash, but he did have to spend a long time combing out a knot that I had left form (oops!). He also asked if I was going anywhere that evening (I always make my appt. at the very end of the day). Since I was not, I did not require a style. I assume had I said I was on my way to dinner or something, then he would have made sure I didn't look a mess leaving. I have no idea how the negative experience the person below described could have occurred, based on my experience with this establishment. I guess everyone has a bad day though. I would recommended to anyone for extensions or a cut. I have not had them dye my hair, so cannot speak to that.

I cannot recommend Philip James Salon highly enough. I have been getting extensions here for several years and I can't count the number of times people have been surprised to learn I even have them - that's how natural the hair blends and looks! I would NEVER trust my hair or extensions to another salon. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I moved into the city awhile back and have been salon bouncing. I went to Philip James for highlights and a cut and finally got exactly what I wanted. I recommend Claudine. She's very thorough when it comes to color, actually the whole process - even the consultation. She also added a little depth to the ends of my hair. She said it would make my hair look healthier - and she was right! She's super friendly and the whole salon is very unpretentious. Prices are very reasonable for a LIncoln Park salon. Definitely going back.
