Best haircut I have ever gotten, hands-down. Erin Leader was my stylist and amazingly talented. The entire place had a very friendly, professional vibe.

I live between four different hair salons with similar ratings and reviews. After trying two other salons and having no luck for a walk-in, I ended at Phillip Michael and will never look any further! Everything about Mary (part owner) was amazing. She listened to my ideas while adding her educated opinion and ended with awesome results! The highlights (balyage), cut, and style left me ready to take on the weekend! Thanks again, Mary!

Ill be the first to say I am not great with hair. Before I started coming to Phillip Michael Studio I would go 8-10 months in between hair cuts because at other salons I would inevitably get a stylist that wanted me to look like I had a mullet or belonged in some other decade. I met Mary at a networking event and she convinced me to come in and give their studio a try. When I did, she sat with me before she began and discussed what was important to me about my hair and how I wear it on a daily bases as well as what I like to do with it when I style it. Only after she had a good understanding of my personal needs did she start playing with my hair and recommending different options. She made me feel so at ease that I told her she could do whatever she thought best, and I am so glad I did! My hair looked great, and it has never felt so soft! I will never let anyone else touch my hair again after seeing the difference between what she was able to do and what the the women at other salons had done. Since my first appointment I have seen Mary for basically every service the salon offers (cut, color, highlights, blowouts, up-do, and eye brow waxing) and she has never disappointed! I can not recommend her highly enough!

I just moved to Fed Hill this summer and was nervous about finding a new hair salon (I'm quite picky) and was overwhelmed by the number of options. I chose to try out the Phillip Michael Studio, while on the pricier end, because the reviews were encouraging and my brief impression while passing by in the neighborhood was that it was a small, professional, and welcoming studio. I'm happy to say the reviews were spot on and the looks were in no way deceiving (not to mention worth every penny) I scheduled a last minute appointment (a few hours beforehand) with Phillip and he was extremely flexible and happy to squeeze me in (unlike other higher-end studios that are pretty cut-throat about their appointments). He greeted me by name when I came in the salon and right off-the-bat I was treated like I had been a loyal customer for years. I really loved the laid-back feel of the studio. This place has excellent talent that you would expect from a fancy studio without the snooty undertones. Before my cut, Phillip spent time talking to me about my hair and styling preferences and also what I've liked and disliked about previous cuts to get a feel for what I was looking for. I am by no means articulate when it comes to discussing styling and cutting techniques, but he was super patient and very good at helping me verbalize my thoughts and 'vision'. He talked me through every phase of the haircut, which I GREATLY appreciated as I'm sure we've all had the nerve-wracking experience with a stylist who sits you down and immediately starts hacking away at hair. Not only was the haircut superb, but Phillip himself was so much fun to work with. I'm about a few weeks out now from my visit and my hair still looks fantastic! To me, this is proof of an exceptionally well done cut rather than the work of a sub-par stylist who’s able to work wonders with product while you’re in the salon and then leaves you with a disaster the second you shower and style yourself. I will definitely be recommending this salon to all of my friends and returning in another month or so for my trim!

My first visit and DEFINITELY won't be the last! Phillip completely transformed my hairstyle. I went from long to short without fail and Phillip was very helpful with suggesting projects I should "dump" when I get home and projects I should probably invest in. I sent a picture of me with my new "do" to my husband and he immediately made it his wallpaper on his phone. Bottom line.....I couldn't have had a better experience at this salon. Looking forward to my next appointment :D
