Just got an amazing haircut (much-needed), double conditioning, and styling at Meko New York Natural Hair Care Spa & Boutique. The owner herself gave me a very enthusiastic talk about the importance of hair care, cut my hair, and perfected my style. This was a great experience! Iâ€™ll be back and highly recommend it. Itâ€™s a short walk from the Highland Ave. stop on the NJ transit train, so not a daunting trip. My natural hair with no extensions has never looked so great!

Lord help you if you need to reschedule. Their policy is to cancel 48 hours in advance -_-, which is ridiculous. They'll give you a "courtesy" call one day prior, but you can't cancel without paying a fee. The courteous thing to do would be to align the courtesy call with the cancellation policy by calling the client 48 hours prior, permitting them to reschedule. Services are overpriced as well. I had a SIMPLE style (loose flat twists) done for a wedding and the struggle was REAL. I will not be returning.

Paid 90 bucks plus a 10 dollar tip for what was supposed to be a style from their facebook page. Instead of having the person that could do the style I got a trainee that made no attempt to copy the stye(after seeing the photo twice. NO HAIR WASH, SIMPLE 2HR CORNROW STYLE AND I FEEL USED AND STUPID...Shayla is very sweet and so is the other staff but it hasn't even been 24hrs and I had to fix my hair! Not going back...I hope they improve....was hoping on being a regular
