My VERY first time visiting and shopping at an Ulta Beauty store and I must say...it was AMAZING!!! I love that they have more variety than other stores and they actually carry my Michael Kors roller ball perfume! So easy to travel with! Definitely going back!

In March I decided to get my hair done. I decided to go to Ulta under the impression that it would affordable and the stylist know what they were doing. I was wrong. I wanted to my hair to be one color but the Tonya gave me 3. Red 2 blond highlights and black in the back. She told me everything she was doing with my hair and never gave me a price. So when I was told that is was $350 I was disgusted with myself, Tonya, and the fact that I had to pay so much. If she would have told how much everything was I would not have done it all. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN.

I'm not a makeup person. I'll start with that and I know that makes it seem like I'm not the best person to ask about Ulta beauty, but I do know what it means to be a commonly good person who works in the store. I'm an African American and I feel like most of the stores in this area have a way of completely walking past you as to make you feel like you're not needed or wanted in this area. In Ulta beauty my friends and I tried to talk to at least four or five of the associates to ask for foundation samples and in general small questions about the use of certain items. Every single associate we walked up to or try to walk up to walk in the complete opposite direction at the speed of light as if we were a zombie or someone with the play. After a while we decided to leave and I'm doing my best to never return. I do enjoy shopping at Ulta because they have a lot of products that I need, but this particular store can be a bit racist as our other beauty stores in the area. Sephora I'm looking at you! Just keep that in mind if you're going there and your person of color, you might not get the service that you need. If you already know what you're going to pick out though, just go get it and get it out. Don't stay in this area too long, people will hurt you.

The Ulta on 86 St.is amazing. I finally got my hair cut the way I wanted in their salon. Very well stocked and helpful staff is. Ulta @Bay Plaza ,Bronx is newly renovated and sooooo much better. Just visited today and very pleased.

I came in right at 7am when the store opens (thankful they're open that early) and everyone was very welcoming. I was looking for a specific mascara that was new and I couldn't locate it myself. Within a couple of minutes, an employee asked if I needed help. They knew right away that it wasn't stocked on the floor yet and someone went to get it from the back. Really friendly, prompt service. The store also has a huge selection and is easy to navigate.
