As a business owner I try to give people benefit of the doubt but my first experience at Bella wasn’t a great one.
Ashley, the owner was referred to me by one of my clients. I scheduled for a haircut and solid hair color. Was looking forward to it until I sat down in the chair. She asked me how long I wanted it cut off so I said about 6â€. She then asked me where I wanted it cut off, so I showed her. She then corrected me that it wasn’t 6 inches. First sign. As I was telling her I have had couple of perms in the past so my hair has been through a lot and hoped with that information could be helpful to her in knowing how to treat my hair. She rudely interrupted and said “I don’t do perms.†I didn’t come for a perm. Was just telling her about history of my hair. Second sign.
I should have gotten up and left but I brushed it off. I told her I wanted a full color, no highlights, and wanted it lighter than my natural virgin hair since I grew it out. She rudely said she didn’t have 8 hours for that! Either did I! My baby was 6 months old at the time! I would have understood that it could take multiple visits if she was to tell me.
I said I didn’t want it to be brassy, orangy or red. She said she knew exactly what I wanted. She’s going balayage my hair. When it was done, it was not balayage and looked more like baby highlights. I hated it and she said it would look better if curled. I work 6-7days/wk and had a baby! Who has time for that!? It should look good regardless! She then said “I could put a full color on your hair but it would just look like I had DUMPED it on your head!†She also cut my hair so choppy and stringy in places that when it was in a pony tail, I had to cut the stringy pieces off myself!! I paid $120 plus tip and no one could even tell I had my hair done. I guess it was that “natural†looking.
Out of all the bad experiences I’ve had in the past, this one was the worst for me. She was so busy she was rushing through, had assistant mix the color, and gave me an attitude when I wasn’t too thrilled about the result.
It has been 10 months and this is how fresh it is still in my mind. It took me this long to decide to write this review because like I said, as a business owner I hate to give anyone a bad star but this one sure deserved it.
