My friend and I drove over an hour one way to try out Dramatics Hair Salon. We never get a chance to get pampered and consider ourselves to be very low maintenance. That being considered, we were disgusted and our hands and feet were damaged and mistreated during our time at Dramatics. Professionalism: The "manicurist" (Owner) talked to a friend throughout the manicure and missed steps, only oiling the cuticles on one hand / missing the base coat of nail polish on some of the fingers. The "manicurist" told me I had nubbly little fingers (I'm guessing because my fingernails are shorter). The overall cleanliness was extremely poor throughout the salon. The Manicure: My cuticles were cut completely off. She was extremely rough about it after I told her repeatedly that my cuticles are very sensitive. While she was jamming the metal tool into them, I kept pulling back in pain and she grabbed my hand and said, "Stop pulling back..." Today, my cuticles are tearing back and cracking and hurt VERY badly. The lady also did not cut my fingernails - only used a nail file and left ridges / peaks in the curve of my nails. She didn't have me wash my hands before the nail painting - so a lot of the paint has come off already! The Pedicure: Firstly, the "pedicure station" was in a back store room and the chair was wedged between shelves / examination table and an old exit door covered in dirty plastic. The "Pedicurist" had the wrong tools and had to be stopped by the owner and corrected. The chair was uncomfortable and I had to elevate my leg and hold it there throughout the pedicure. The foot bath water was full of white and gray floaties even before she had me put my feet into it. I purposely didn't cut my toenails ahead of time in hopes to have them cut professionally. The lady looked at them, said they were fine, and didn't cut or file my toenails at all. The "massage" consisted of about 20 - 25 seconds of her swatting the bottoms of my feet and the undersides of my calves with the back of her hand. Yep, that's it. Literally. I showed her a large callus I have on my toe and she proceeded to file it down with a NAIL FILE - this took about 20 minutes and burned. There were no toe separators for when the polish went on. The lady's index fingers were bulging and cracked. They looked like they'd recently been bleeding and she was digging into my cuticles with those fingers. Both of my big toes sting today and look slightly swollen on the sides - I'm afraid I have an infection from the water or her fingers. In conclusion, This was supposed to be a fun day out with my friend and it turned out to be a nightmare. The problems we had should never happen at a professional establishment. It's not like I'd complain about decor or the lady's appearances. These are valid concerns and this salon should NOT be in business. My fingertips and toes HURT so badly.
