MOJ hair experience

When I want braids MOJ African Braiding is the only place I call! Rama is the best! She is vey knowledgeable and provides a relaxing hair experience. I get tons of compliments on my hair! The shop is very clean and the staff is very professional! Call and get a appointment you won’t regret it!

I am Jazmine, after reading all the positive and negative reviews I am glad I made my appointment. I am pleased, I will come back again. This is one of the hair braiding place that I felt welcome. It is a positive, very friendly, and great work. Miss Rama explained to me the reason my price changed and which made more sense after I changed my style that I indicated over the phone and when I arrived to the place; I had many options of styles that I wanted to pick from, therefore, I completely changed my hair original style which changed my price. I appreciated that Miss Rama wanted all her customers to be safe, and making sure we are all wearing masks or not having any kind of COVID symptoms "cough, chills, and running nose..." Thank you for doing my hair, and I will be coming back again. Big hugs.

Great hair poor attitude

They always do great work, but I think the owner is a bit rude and condescending. Every time I coughed (vaccinated and wearing a mask), she started tripping I don't appreciate her attitude. I paid $285 for two trainees who were slow as hell, and to he treated like I and the plague. Get a grip, lady people cough it's not always COVID. if you scared of COVID do rapid testing of your customers or stop doing hair.

Ms Rama the owner is money hungry. She says 1 price, but changes it once you’re there. The staff doesn’t have any customer service skills. They act like your not paying them for their services. This is the absolutely worst place to go. Do your research and find a salon that value you as a customer.

Mrs Rama takes her time to respond to rescheduling and only appears to communicate by text! When I told her I was going somewhere else because of her unprofessionalism of responding and acknowledging you she says she was busy and I feel she could have least acknowledge my cancellation and wanting to reschedule! She responds and say thats fine if I choose to go somewhere else! What happened to good customer service!

Rahma the owner was extremely rude to me.My appointment was for 930 and I didn't get the first twist in until 1030. I asked for nubian twist. Rahma said she'd be able to do my hair in this style. I explained to her that my hair was long, to the middle of back.She scheduled my appointment for Friday at 930, at 830 that morning, she canceled and rescheduled me for Sat at 930. I called Rahma she stated wasn't there She took longer than 10 minutes to get there. When she finally began my hair, she put three twist in, no product on them, then gave me a receipt and said I needed to prepay. Against better judgment, I paid 260 dollars. She did a few more twists while continuing to state that my hair is so long, she hasn't done nubian twists on hair this long and she will try. She continued to twist my hair. I had not looked at it at this point. Around 1 o'clock, she had walked away and was gone well over 10 minutes. I asked the other employee if she had left, she simply said no, she will be back. I went to the bathroom and saw the twists poor quality.When I left the bathroom,she still hadn't returned, I left. As I was driving, I called a friend who had been to Rahma and had gotten nubian twists. I told her how Rahma was acting, how I had to prepay, all the phone calls, and the poor quality of the twists.The more I thought about it, I got more annoyed and asked myself why would I put up with this. I texted Rahma, stated that I was on my way back and that she please return my money. She called my phone instantly, yelling and screaming wanting to know why I wanted my money back. She claimed she was in the bathroom all that time. However, common courtesy would have made her say hey, I need to step away for a few minutes, do you need anything, did you want to go grab something to eat, etc.?When I reentered the shop, the yelling continued. "I can't go to the bathroom!! I can't give you back your money. We don't do cash refunds!!! Let me finish your hair!!! I told Rahma to stop yelling at me. She continued to yell and I yelled back. I told her she was late, she was rude and unprofessional, and that she didn't even put the first twist in until 1031, I had text messages to prove it. She said she was not giving me my money. I told her yes, she was. She then went on to tell me, she isn't giving me my money and what was I going to do about it?! She then raised her hands and acted like hey, we got nothing here but space and opportunity!!! I told her she tried it and that she would not be putting me in a position to act unseeemingly.I called the police.While waiting for the police to come, she continued being disrespectful. I told her just be quiet and wait for the police to get there. I told her to hush probably 15 times and she still kept talking.When the police came, I explained to them what happened and they told me it was a civil matter and to take her to the magistrate. I said that was fine. If she wants to lose even more money having to go to court, so be it.The officers talked to her, they said that she said she will do my hair. I said no. She offered to deduct 70 dollars.I said no. I told her she could take 7 dollars to replace the bag of hair she used. They then say that she wants her cape. He said if I didn't take the cape off, he'd take me to jail for theft!! I took the cape off.They told me never come back and I was no longer allowed to enter her shop!! I left and entered my truck without my money. As I'm trying to calm down, talking to my husband, Rahma knocks on my window!!! I yelled, WHAT!!! Now, very calmly she says "I will give you your money, all of your money. I'll take your twists out for you!! What?!?You've just argued, yelled, and lied on me over 30 minutes! She says "please, please. I don't want any trouble. Sometimes things happen. I don't need the money, it's not about the money!!! I'll give you all your money" She hands me my money, tells me to count it, and says she doesn't want any one to be unhappy. Unbelievable!!
