I got my hair done by Kenzie Taylor here. I went in for a semi-permanent black & some grey tape-in extensions. For weeks I was reassured through messages that she knew what she was doing because she's Redken certified, & that she wasn't going to do anything that would put my hair at risk. Everything seemed to be going smoothly but when the color was rinsed out & my hair was dry, my roots were totally PURPLE. I was mortified but tried to be understanding, things happen. I didn't want more products put on my hair out of fear of it getting worse. She had blonde extensions ready for me that she had color on, which turned out to be a God awful murky black.. I am just so glad I didn't trust her to dye my real hair grey. She tried to correct them but they turned green.. & she left the tops of the extensions platinum blonde when my hair is clearly black & you'd be able to see the base of the extensions through my hair. I was hesitant to let her apply them to my hair, then she informs me that I won't be able to wash my hair for 72 hours in order for the tape-ins to stay in my hair. She didn't tell me any of this before when we had a full discussion about the extensions, & I already had plans that weekend & wouldn't be able to just not wash my hair. So I politely passed on the extensions given this new information & the fact that the extensions weren't even close to the color I had requested, & I wasn't sure if I trusted her with my hair at this point. I had even provided reference photos for the color I wanted. During this entire experience she kept leaving the room to ask her mother who also works there for advice. She kept asking her for help when dying my hair, she even had to get help when she was just cutting my hair. Kind of odd for a "Redken certified stylist" to be running to mommy over a basic haircut & a basic all over color. She apologized & said that this time was on her & that I didn't have to pay. I was so flustered over the entire situation, but I insisted to pay anyway & I just wanted to go home. She refused to let me pay for my service. I thanked her & left. After I get home I see that she has blocked my messages & blocked me on Facebook, after saying she would be in touch. It must have been terribly inconvenient when she messed up MY hair. This just pushed me over the edge. For someone who ranted about being a Redken certified stylist she managed to handle this not only in an unprofessional manner but immaturely as well. I am incredibly disappointed in the entire situation. I don't recommend this salon. Long story short, my REDKEN certified stylist had to ask her mother how to cut & color my hair, then blocked me on Facebook like a 12 year old after she messed up my hair. I was under the impression that I was seeing someone experienced enough to do my hair on their own & not mess up something so simple... & more importantly act like an adult in an adult situation that, guess what! You have to face in this line of work. But I guess she will just block her clients on Facebook whenever she makes a mistake.
