I love Jón Alan Salon in Cool Springs. Melissa has cut my hair for over 3 years and I have always been very happy with the cut. No longer do I get out my scissors at home to tweak anything since Melissa has been cutting my hair. She is the best! The staff knows all the regular customers and they are very friendly.

I went to this salon and made an appointment with a lady who was new to Aveda, but had almost 20 years of experience doing hair so I wasn’t worried she was new with the company. When the lady put foils in my hair she not only had to go back and add more color to the foils, but also told me to walk outside in the 90+ weather to help the process go faster. I didn’t see anyone else walking around outside. I was also told I would be out in 3 hours and was there double that time. I even had to come back the next day to get someone else to fix it and it is still not fixed. I have never spent so much on getting my hair colored, spent so much time, and I have never been more disappointed with how my hair turned out. I now have orange in my hair. I will never go back to this salon.

I have only wonderful things to say about Jon Alan of Cool Springs!!! I’ve been a loyal customer for 4 years and I look forward to each and every appointment. Your fabulous experience starts the moment you walk in the door- you’re greeted like family! Missy’s smiling face and professionalism are the perfect start to visit. Over the last several years I’ve lived in 4 states and many major cities. My stylist, Katie Jacoby, is hands down the absolute BEST. She consistently makes me feel beautiful- she’s a true artist and expert in her craft. Plus she’s become a great friend. Frankly every stylist is awesome. If you need any kid of aesthetic treatment- Kylee is your girl. She’s so talented and incredibly kind. From Lashes to skin care she will make you feel your best. I truly adore this salon and highly recommend it to women, men, and children! Wishing everyone a fantastic hair day!

This was possibly the worst hair experience I’ve ever had. Upon arrival you get a tour of all the services they are trying to sell you on. I was then introduced to a different stylist than the one I booked with with no explanation. Whatever, I rolled with it. The stylist, super friendly but a little confused, sat and spoke with me on expectations. I told her that when I called, the girl on the phone told me I would be charged for a hair thinning ($20) and a toning ($40). That’s all I wanted, as my hair is thick and my balayage is starting to become a bit brassy. After the weirdest thinning technique I’ve ever seen, only thinking the bottom inch of my hair (what!?!?), the stylist continually tried to talk me into an all over color, and left the room to go mix color. I immediately returned to the front desk to explain to them that all I was wanting was a toning. They told me it wouldn’t change the color of my balayage (not true) and that if I was looking for a dark color, I was looking at around $200 (I have shoulder length hair). When I told them how steep I thought that was, they proceeded to tell me that a balayage downtown Nashville runs at $400 (one, I’m in franklin, two, not true.). I left. The girls were rude, whispering to try and figure out who scheduled my appointment in the first place. After telling them I’m not paying a haircut price ($50) for a thinning, they gave me a half-off haircut price for a horrid thinning job, and continually told me misinformation about the pricing they quoted over the phone. I agree with the previous rater, this is an AVEDA salon. Why am I paying more than I would pay at a downtown salon such as Local Honey??? Which I now have an appointment and pricing quote with. Needless to say, paid more than I should for a thinning that has messed up my hair for a good while. Stay far away!!!!

I have been going to Aveda salons for 20 years. I love the products. I passed by 2 other Aveda salons to get to this one to try. This is not a rating on the stylist as much as their pricing and "used car" sales pitches. For a root touch up, it was $90 (compared to $60 at the previous Aveda salons) and they charge $15 for a blow dry and $25 for a flat iron. This is not included in the price. I walked out paying $125 (plus tip) for a root touch up and a flat iron styled hair. In 20 years, I have never paid extra to have a finished look leaving an Aveda salon. I tried one more time because I loved the stylist, and when I got there, I found out she was out sick. They put me with someone else that did my root touch up and then when I told her I did not want my hair cut, she started to trim around my ends a little after she blew it dry and I was charged for it. I was also told they had the color that was used last time, but the roots are darker than before. I want to go to a salon and relax. The 2 times I was there, it was all about getting this extra treatment done for $x or I need this product. The first time was from an Aveda sales rep that was in the salon for the day and the next was from the stylist. Never a relaxing experience. Nice staff but for the money, there are better Aveda salons to choose from.

I keep trying to find a place as good that's not so far from me, but, this is the only place, and Hannah the only person, who has ever given me a good haircut that works with my face and hair type. It's worth the 52 Mile drive for me!
