I know better. I have very thick hair, and with a short haircut it needs someone who is patient and will take the time to get it right. As soon as i walked in Scott seemed nervous and his hands were shaking, even his voice seemed rattled and nervous. I had an asymmetrical pixie cut a few months back and it had gotten long and shaggy and I was in desperate need of a trim. All I needed was it to be cut one side shorter like a mens cut, and leave the other side long, just give it a little trim, and maybe thin it a tad. I know I have a lot of hair so I know I'm over simplifying the process, because there is a ton of molding and sculpting that goes into a cut like mine. I explained to Scott that the hair by my ear gets really tight ringlets and to leave them long, because otherwise they stick straight out when short. He said great thanks for the heads up on how my hair acts and behaves and we went over to get a wash. I should have left right then.. the towel he put around my neck smelt moldy and musky as if it were put in an old cabinet still damp. It was awful. We went back to the chair, as I sat there I had a good look around his station an the others that I could see, and I noticed the huge amounts of dust collected on the boa that went to he chandelier at his station as well, it just wasn't clean, I get your going for the retro look, but those lady kept a tidy home and moldy smelling towels were definitely not a thing. I digress, back to the cut not 10 mins in he practically looped off all the long hair I had on the side that I wanted to be kept long. The ringlets I had asked to keep in place wen't from six inches to 1/2 an inch. So much for the asymmetrical cut... He then proceeded to leave the top in a very bowl like shape. So it looked like I had a shallow bowl placed on my head and the scissors ran straight across it. I mentioned to him that he had cut it too short where I wanted it long and that we will have to go with a short haircut look. He looked panicked stricken and said "oh I guess I did exactly what you didn't want me to do". I laughed to play it off, sure it wasn't what I wanted but as long as he thinned out the top so I didn't look like an inverted triangle we would be fine, it would just be a pixie cut. He started shaking and wiping his brow, he had gotten nervous and I tried my best to calm him so I could just get a nice looking cut, unfortunately not so. He mentioned my hair was thick and difficult and that I knew as much since I mentioned it to him. Sure I warned him, I always do, but the last person who cut it short did an amazing job, and to be honest I will go back to her, I needed a cut and I guess that's what I get for waiting last minute to schedule. In the end I left with a weird cut, and the stench of that moldy musky towel still lingers on me.
