I have given this salon two opportunities to work on my hair. The esthetic to the salon is very nice and appealing. But in reality walking in you get the sense that the employees here are a bit snobby and quite uninviting. I also noticed that certain clients get better service than others, and that really bothers me.
On both occasions I saw certain customers being offered drinks like water, coffee, or tea, I was never offered anything. Which seemed kind of weird considering each time I spent over $300. In addition I booked an appointment with the owner Nick, which mind you costs more than booking with any of the other stylists. I was really disappointed because his assistant did most of the work, which included coloring, washing, and styling my hair. The only thing he did was prepare the color and cut my hair. I wouldn't of paid extra if I would of known some other stylist was going to end up doing my hair at the end of the day. I paid extra because I expected him to do the work!
Not to mention his assistant isn't that great. She was super rough when washing and styling my hair, seriously my head hurt afterwards. She left hair dye all around my head and ears. It wasn't like the shadow it was actual dye, like I wiped it and it got on my hand, how the hell do you miss that? My hair is frizzy and wavy, when she styled it she didn't even bother to smooth out the hair around my face. I walked out of there a frizzy mess. All of this really upset me, because I had to go back to work. When I go to a salon I expect to walk out ready to go, not ready to go home and wash hair dye off and style my own hair.
I'm a very good customer and both times I left a very generous tip. And even though I liked how my color came out I will not be back to this salon. I understand your assistant washing my hair, but when I pay extra to have you color, cut, and style my hair, I expect YOU to color, cut, and style my hair! I booked an appointment with YOU not your assistant! And you should treat all your customers with the same courtesy, just because it's my first time at YOUR salon doesn't mean I don't notice things or have standards, especially when I'm spending well over $300.
At the end of the day this salon is too busy pleasing and catering to their regulars to bother to take the time give the same attention to new clientele. Remember while it is important to keep your regulars content and happy. It is equally important to impress and gain new clientele to help your business continue to grow. At the end of the day that is what is going to set your salon apart from your vast competition. I was kind enough to give this salon a second chance, but I won't be foolish enough to give it another. I'm sure there are plenty of salons out there that will appreciate my business.
