MY CHILD IS TRAUMATIZED!!
My sister and I went in today, Sunday June 23rd at 10:30 am for my nephew's appointment and from the minute we walked in until the moment we walked out, we were treated in such a disrespectful and an unprofessional manner.
First of all, Melonhead claims to be a child friendly hair care provider, but EVERY SINGLE THING about that name is a fraud. It was my baby's first time at a barber shop, and they knew of that as we told them that when we walked in.
My child was in a playing mood while he was exploring the seats and immediately the hair dresser (who btw did not want to give her name) snapped at him to "sit down". He wasn't making sounds, he wasn't even talking, he was just smiling and moving the car steering wheel, as that is the NORMAL thing a child 15 months of age would do!
Even though my child complied, she still did not smile or say "thank you" or had even an ounce of politeness and care in the way she spoke or treated my nephew. She then whipped on the hair cape which startled my child and he started to cry. When my sister and I tried to calm him down, she was rushing to get in there and get the job done. She handed me bubbles, which then I tried to use to distract him and try to calm him down, but even before he could breath, she got in there and freaked him out even more with the haircut. Throughout the entire time, she was spitting out rude comments and didn't even end up cutting the hair properly as the lines were not straight and out of proportion. Do not charge $30 if you are going to do work that is only worth $1!
When we called around 1:30 PM to complain, the same hair dresser picked up and refused to give her name and said that it wasn't her who cut his hair, but it was a lady who worked for 17 years, even though she told us at the shop, that she has been working for 17 years!
When your profession is dealing with children, you need to AT LEAST smile and be friendly to them! If you can't do that, then this is not the right job for you.
There were two ladies who were working, and both of them were rude and did not care for what was happening around them.
This was our first time visiting a Melonhead, and unfortunately this will also be the last time! I am very upset that this is a business that deals with young and innocent children, and their services are something that is unprofessional for even adults!
A complaint will be made to head office as well.
