I've been growing my hair out for about 3.5 years. In that time, I haven't had it cut or treated in any way. It's thick, heavy and fairly curly - falling almost to the top of my buttocks.
But it needed help.
Over the past couple weeks I'd started noticing split ends and it was getting more tangled over time. My curls were stretched out. The ends felt dry and almost brittle. It didn't look great when I let it down.
I knew it was time to get it trimmed, but the idea of cutting my hair, which I am literally and figuratively attached to, was daunting.
"What if they cut too much?"
While doing research for curly hair specialists, Hair Sprung kept showing up. I was drawn to the reviews of people who had long, curly hair and who left satisfied that they didn't lose too much of their hair. Or their curls.
I was fortunate to be able to get an appointment in about a week (rather than the typical 2-3 week wait) due to a cancellation and had my appointment this morning.
It was amazing!
Alissa spent the first 10 minutes of our appointment to find out what I wanted and what my current hair routine was. Throughout my appointment, she gave me very helpful tips and suggestions on keeping my hair healthy and stressed preventative care vs reactive work. She didn't push any products and let her scissors demonstrate her skill.
It's clear to me that she is passionate about curly hair and it shows in her work.
I left there with extra bounce in my now improved ringlets and will definitely make Alissa and Hairsprung a regular part of my hair care regimen.
