I went in to Bang On after being recommended to the shop by multiple people. I was really excited for the hair cut as I was doing something new and different. I was told the hairdresser there was funky and innovative and that I should give him a try. We talked for a bit about what I wanted but I feel like he made a lot of assumptions. I asked for an undercut as close to the scalp as possible. He sectioned off my hair where the undercut line would be and before asking me if that line was ok, he took a large handful of my hair and cut it off. I was pretty shocked by this as my usual hair dresser always confirms everything she's doing before she takes the action. I would have actually preferred that the line had not been so high but I accepted his choice. He did come highly recommended after all. I also asked for 2 inch+ cut on the rest of my hair. Instead, he barely took anything off the bottom. Then at the end he decided to thin out and texturize my hair without asking me. As a person with very thin, whispy hair to begin with, further thinning leads to frizz and makes it difficult to style. I was really surprised that he made this choice and that he did so without consulting me. Ultimately, I feel like the hairdresser made up his mind about what should happen to my hair even before I opened my mouth. To make matters worse, the undercut line was uneven and wavy. Not to mention that he didn't use clippers on the undercut and instead cut it with scissors. It was nowhere near as short as I asked. A few weeks later I went to a local barber only to have him show me that there was a chunk of hair at the back of my head that hadn't been cut properly and it looked AWFUL. I was a very disappointing experience to say the least and that it cost me a chunk of money. I would not recommend this salon to anyone who is looking to do anything with hard lines/edges or anything particularly modern.
