I had an appointment with stylist Glorious Carter. The day of the appointment, Glorious texted me about 30 minutes before the appointment stating that she'd be 15 minutes late because she had to run to the hair store for edge control. That was fine with me. Then about 15 minutes after the initial appointment time, she texted me stating she had been pulled over. I told her that was fine, I would just get something to eat down the street. At this point, it's about 11:20am and the original appointment time was 11am. When I arrived back at the shop, I texted her and told her to let me know when to come in and she said okay. That was the last text I got from her. About 20 minutes later, I went ahead and went inside to sit down and wait. Another stylist informed me that I was parked in a handicap spot, so I went back out to move my car. I came back in about 15 minutes later and the other stylist told me she got a phone call from Glorious' family member. Glorious had a family emergency and would not be in today. At this point I had been sitting at the shop over an hour waiting for her. She never showed up to the appointment. I got in my car, texted her to refund my deposit and went home which is over 30 minutes away.
Later that evening around 6:30pm Glorious texts me stating she'd been arrested and refunded the deposit. No biggie, I texted her back and said I hope things get better. I asked her to switch my appointment to that evening or in the morning as I have somewhere to be. She said she could do the next morning at 7:30. I moved some things around so that I could make the appointment the next morning. When I get to the appointment at 7:44am, I was greeted with, "I was 1 minute from cancelling your appointment." In Glorious' confirmation email, she states she charges a $15 late fee for up to 15 minutes. That's fine with me, just add the fee. But no, Glorious was HOT that I was 14 minutes late. She told me she had a full day and did not have to squeeze me in. At this point, we exchanged words, but she still agreed to do my hair, and I did not want to waste my time again. Once I sat down, Glorious begins walking around doing tedious things before she goes to the back and close the door. From the chair I can hear her on the phone clearly upset. I go and knock on the door and ask her are we doing this or not. That's when she tells me she will not be doing my hair and that she does not tolerate disrespect. At this point I am livid. You wasted my time TWO days in a row. Not to mention, this is the same stylist who came to my house a few months earlier for a hair appointment and showed up an hour and a half late with an open cup. Come to find out, she was carrying around a spit cup because she was pregnant and salivated a lot. She didn't mention it was a spit cup until my 1-year-old went over and poured it out. Fool me one time, shame on you. Fool me two times, shame on me. I would never give this girl the time of day again. She is very unprofessional and unstable.
I called the owner of the building, Kim. Kim told me there is no salon owner. She owns the building and the stylists lease the booths from her so she can't really discipline them. So basically the stylists can do whatever they want. She assured me that was not the case, and that she would handle the situation. Take that as you will.
