The google star options should be ratcheted up to 11 to handle the fabulous that is Mod's Hair LA. They do everything better - hair, nails, waxing - everything. Customer service is wonderful. Ernesto is the best stylist I have ever had. I live in the neighborhood & this is a neighborhood gem.

I am a man living in the area and I had yet to find an affordable haircut in the area that made me want to return. I called Mod on a Sunday afternoon after reading some reviews here. He was getting ready to close but stayed and waited for me. he then gave me a fantastic haircut fort only $18! [soon to be $23, he said...] And for what it is worth, while in the chair, it felt natural to talk to him. He was neither old-boy taciturn nor uncomfortably chatty. Normal. Easy. I will be back.

I went on Saturday to this salon that was recommended by many people. I made an appointment with the one of their famous hairdresser because my hair is very curly, so I really wanted a special attention. I arrived in the salon, and already he tells me that there is only one hour available for me, so not time for any coloration. Then, when we discuss my hair and after the cut I asked it to dry it and straighten it, the only answer I got was ohhh it will take some time. Then, he rushed into getting my hair half dry to have his assistant finishing the work. Result, I left this place with hair not even straightened. The worst thing is that he is juggling between 3 customers, it feels like they only want you to come for your money and no one gives you the attention you need. Just for info, we come to a salon to be happy with the result, the schedule of the hairdresser is not really my problem. The worst thing is I paid 160 dollars, and my hair is not even strait after half a day. This is unbelievable and I would strongly not recommend this place to anyone. Don't let yourself being fulled by the fact that some of the hair dressers are "famous", you will just be treated as a bank, and not be given the best .

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. The space place is sleek and modern. The staff is incredible. One lovely staff member ran for several blocks to feed my expiring meter while I was getting my hair done. I went in to get a balayage hair color treatment done by Tifany and she did a gorgeous job. She fixed a previous terrible haircut by another stylist and did a wonderful job of layering my curls. This was my first time doing balayage and she did an amazing job. It is subtle and looks sunkissed, which is exactly what I wanted. The staff pampered me the entire time, getting me tea and water. I felt so well-taken care of here.
