Very friendly place, there is one dye specialist and a couple cut specialists I guess you would call them. Very clean, organized place. Employees very amazing.

Alicia was recommended to me by 2 friends who have been seeing her for years.(We follow her wherever she goes!) The first hair cut and dye she did for me was absolutely amazing! It's been a few weeks since my last visit and I am still getting complements on my hair. I have naturally dark brown hair and Alicia added deep red highlights and lots of layers. I didn't need a deep conditioning treatment this time but I will probably next time. Alicia has a truly amazing gift. Not only that, but she knows the style that will look best on you. Special effects For Hair is a very cute salon. I love the black and white tile floors! Although I live in the east bay, It is seriously worth the drive to get an amazing cut and style. I highly recommend Special Effects For Hair Salon and especially Alicia!!

In 1985, after years of searching, I finally found the hair salon for me. I have very hard to manage, straight, fine, limp hair and had never found a stylist who could deal with it until I found Don Jay at Special Effects for Hair. He gives a wonderful haircut and colors my hair so that it looks natural. I don't have trouble keeping it looking good between visits, thanks to his expertise. Not only is he an extremely talented stylist, but he is a wonderful friend. I've known him for about 25 years and he always makes me feel right at home. In fact, I feel like I'm among family when I visit Special Effects. Everyone is always friendly and I enjoy conversations with them all. No matter what type of hair you have, Don will know what to do with it and you will love the results! Connie J.
