Shapers is a very clean professional hair salon. All the operators appear friendly and proficient. I personally have had Christina cut and color my hair for approximately ten years. I always get positive comments on my haircut and refer her highly to all my friends. I am of African-American and Japanese ethnicity and have straightened my hair for about 30 years. Christina does a chemical straightener that is wonderful. It leaves my hair straight and in better condition than before straightening (and believe me I have a ton of experience in this method). The process she does - similar to Chi but less expensive and time consuming - is the bomb! It has changed my life as far as in time spent styling my hair and maintenance. I highly recommend Christina and her professional skills. She has earned my trust and recommendation.

I made an appointment to have my hair chemically straightened. Prior to meeting with Cristina, I spoke to her over the phone and explained that I have had my hair chemically straightened three times before, and that I was looking to have it chemically straightened again. I explained that I wanted a permanent procedure so that my hair would be straight, flat, and free of frizz. She agreed, quoted me $120 and told me of her prior experience and clients she has chemically straightened. Although this price seemed a little too good to be true, as I've usually paid $250-300, I thought I was getting a deal. My hair looked great immediately after she was done. I even tipped $30. Following Cristina's instructions, I waited 2 days to wash my hair. To my surpirse, my hair dried frizzy, wavy and my ends were split. My hair feels like hay, is puffy, wavy, and frizzy. I washed my hair again 3 days later, and the same thing. My hair did NOT dry straight. I called the owner of Shapers, Lori and explained the situation. She told me she had nothing to do with it, to contact Cristina directly as they are each "independent contractors". I called Cristina directly and explained the situation, asking if there was anything she could do to fix my hair. Cristina got really defensive and started yelling at me. I calmly explained that I didn't call her to pick a fight, that all I wanted was to have my hair fixed. She then said that I could come in and she would charge me. I told her that it did not make sense to come in for a fix and pay for it, when the mistake was not my fault. Cristina later called me back and said she would refund $55 of my $150 that I paid. I don't see how that is fair at all. My hair is now ruined PERMANENTLY. I have to wait 3-4 YEARS for my hair to grow out. I can't dye, or apply anything to my hair for the next 3 years because it is so damaged because of Cristina's chemical treatment.

Lori is the only one who I have trusted my hair to for over 12 years now. She has always done a great job with my color and cuts. I have had a wide variety of styles and have loved all of them. On my wedding day, she designed the most fabulous up do. Everyone who see photos of it comments on how wonderful the styling was. Whenever she does my hair, I receive a plethora of compliments from friends and strangers. I refer my family and friends to her and they have all been happy. It is great to know someone who makes their clients smile. Thanks Lori! Anne Weidenweber, Independent Sales Director
