I made an appointment to have my hair chemically straightened. Prior to meeting with Cristina, I spoke to her over the phone and explained that I have had my hair chemically straightened three times before, and that I was looking to have it chemically straightened again. I explained that I wanted a permanent procedure so that my hair would be straight, flat, and free of frizz. She agreed, quoted me $120 and told me of her prior experience and clients she has chemically straightened. Although this price seemed a little too good to be true, as I've usually paid $250-300, I thought I was getting a deal. My hair looked great immediately after she was done. I even tipped $30. Following Cristina's instructions, I waited 2 days to wash my hair. To my surpirse, my hair dried frizzy, wavy and my ends were split. My hair feels like hay, is puffy, wavy, and frizzy. I washed my hair again 3 days later, and the same thing. My hair did NOT dry straight.
I called the owner of Shapers, Lori and explained the situation. She told me she had nothing to do with it, to contact Cristina directly as they are each "independent contractors". I called Cristina directly and explained the situation, asking if there was anything she could do to fix my hair. Cristina got really defensive and started yelling at me. I calmly explained that I didn't call her to pick a fight, that all I wanted was to have my hair fixed. She then said that I could come in and she would charge me. I told her that it did not make sense to come in for a fix and pay for it, when the mistake was not my fault. Cristina later called me back and said she would refund $55 of my $150 that I paid. I don't see how that is fair at all. My hair is now ruined PERMANENTLY. I have to wait 3-4 YEARS for my hair to grow out. I can't dye, or apply anything to my hair for the next 3 years because it is so damaged because of Cristina's chemical treatment.
