Had an appointment yesterday at noon, but the stylist I was booked with was out due to a medical issue. Totally understand that situation is unavoidable, and I hope the stylist is recovering well. However no one called to let me know and to ask to reschedule until I arrived at the appointment. I was really looking forward to getting a cut here but felt that my time was not respected.
Additionally, when I let the receptionist know I did not want to reschedule, my $25 deposit wasn't offered back. I left and had to come back in to request the refund. It's a little ironic for a business to request a deposit in order for a first-time client to keep his/her appointment if in the end the business is unable to keep the appointment.
I'm giving 2 stars because the owner did try to make it up to me by giving me my deposit back and offering to squeeze me in later that day. He had also offered a complimentary Kerastase treatment, which was very nice. Honestly I would have considered coming back if he was wearing a mask like the rest of the staff and the clients.
I ended up getting a nice haircut from another salon down the street. Ultimately I won't be coming back because I would have appreciated a heads up prior to my appointment and if all staff wore masks to protect clients.
