So I texted Melanie, who does her own appointments, and said, "I need like the darkest brown for the roots and I want to cultivate a grey streak. But I also want some punky highlights." And then. "Do I sound crazy?" Melanie is fabulous with basic and punky colors. For me, who is as low maintenance as it gets when I walk out of her salon, she suggests alternatives to the Marilyn Manson circa 2008 color I want. I walk out of there looking good and feel good until I see her next.

This is a great salon, very pleasant atmosphere. Melanie, the owner, has been cutting my hair off and on for years. I keep going back to her because she really gives a quality haircut. She truly understands hair and is very good at assessing people's personal styles and what will suit them both physically and temperamentally. I highly recommend.

I can't say enough great things about Melanie and Charm School. I first started coming to Melanie for my hair about 2 years ago after several years of total and utter frustration with other stylists. I was trying to grow my hair long and no matter who I would see, and how I would express my hair goals, they would chop off any new growth I had, saying it needed it, but not give me any suggestions on how to grow it long and healthy. Melanie listened to me, like REALLY LISTENED and made specific suggestions, including not cutting my hair and sticking to coloring and improving overall health. She knows her craft and tells you what you need straight up and never pushes services or products for the sake of an upsell. She's honest and extremely skilled and I'm thrilled to say that my hair is now longer and healthier than its been in years!!! Melanie is the real deal and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. Take your hair to Charm School. You'll be really happy that you did.
