I have never been subject to worse treatment than when I went to see Kiera McBride! DO NOT GO HERE!
I made an appointment with her to do full highlights after I saw her on a Groupon deal for a haircut, full highlights, and deep conditioning treatment for $65. I only wanted highlights, but somehow the price for just highlights was $65. While this didn't make sense to me, I set up an appointment because it seemed like an okay deal and I've been trying to find a new hair salon. When I showed up, she was immediately dismissive and somewhat rude. She told me that the color I already had on my hair was "tacky" and that it was "annoying" that I was trying to color my hair again after having it recently dyed. I brought four different pictures of what I specifically wanted and she seemed to understand what I had in mind, but the price kept increasing (add $10 for this or that, etc). I had an 11 am appointment and, by noon, she had put lightener in my hair which was fine, but she had also taken three phone calls, made an another appointment for a girl to come and get a haircut during my appointment, done some laundry, texted numerous people, and messed around on her cell phone. She stopped communicating with me completely and didn't warn me that another guest would be showing up. This girl comes for a haircut and Kiera looked at me and bluntly said that "you need to move" and had me sitting in the lobby in a smock and with foils in my hair and zero communication. I was watching her entire interaction with the other client and feeling very uncomfortable - as well concerned about how long the appointment was taking. At almost 1, she finally came over to check my color and literally laughed in my face when I expressed my concerns about the time because I had somewhere to be. Finally she finished styling the other client and began to wash the chemicals out of my hair. I asked her for a specific time estimate and expressed how unhappy I was because I wish she had told me how long it was going to take when I showed up. She immediately blamed it on me and how recently my hair was colored and was reluctant to give an estimate. She shampooed my hair (no conditioner) and, since I was already feeling so uncomfortable, I told her that I needed to leave and would pay her for her time and what she had done so far. Kiera had the audacity to demand full payment even though she had only bleached parts of my hair (very poorly, by the way) and then spent almost an hour and a half ignoring me. We began arguing and I asked to speak with a manager and she told me that there wasn't one at the salon. I ended up paying her $30 and walking out of the salon with wet hair that looked like an awful lion's mane (it was bleach blonde highlights, I had wanted a dark brown/red). I was almost crying at this point and I saw a woman working at the front desk and I felt the need to make a record of how poorly I had been treated and so I asked her if there was a manager - surprise, surprise! She was the manager and Kiera had lied to me! I had a great conversation with the manager who agreed that it was inappropriate to multitask the way Kiera had (Kiera defended it by saying "all salons do this" which I know from personal experience is false) and that a stylist should know a customer's name and that basically everything happened was a sign of poor treatment. I was promised that the owner of the salon would be in contact and would be willing to fix my hair. However, I've heard nothing from Kiera or the manager or the owner. I've had to go to another salon to get my hair fixed (properly colored and treated with a deep conditioning treatment).
Basically, if you go to Kiera McBride at Bella Beauty Salon in Eagle, you will be paying money to be treated poorly, insulted, and lied to. DO NOT GO HERE!
