Luxurious Hair Spa was established in 2015 after a re branding from Mi Amour Salon(established 2013). We take pride in being the first black owned hair salon, in Dubuque, Iowa. Our commitment is providing excellent professional hair care, that is affordable and efficient. That is what keep our clients "loving what we do".

My daughter and I visited for hair cuts and so glad we did! Shamika did just what we needed and provided great advice for our daily hair care! I purchased one of her homemade hair oils and did exactly what she recommended. My natural African-American hair feels soooo good! My daughter's mixed textured hair is also much healthier after our visit. We will be back with the rest of the family soon! Thank you Luxurious Hair Spa!!

I've had Dread Locs 2 times. First try, I went to a Salon in Chicago, I did not like the way they parted each loc and the thickness of the part. Second time around, I found Luxurious Hair Spa. I told them my situation with the first try of Dread Locs. Super understanding and took care of me nicely. 2nd time around, fast forward 1 year, I am still satisfied with the way Luxurious Hair Spa re-did my Dread locs. No regrets and I highly recommend their professional and knowledgeable services.

Owner was asked for a sew in with a closure, which she didn't know how to do. I lost so much hair after taking down the braids that I thought it was braiding hair falling out until I remembered she didn't use any. Owner also tried to quote me a different price at the end. But then when I was paying by card she had to use her system to ring me up and couldn't figure out how to make it charge me more. So I paid the normal price. Never again. I am so upset about my hair. I lost months and months of growth. Edit: The owner is very rude as you can tell based on their reply.
