It is with a lot of sadness that I write this one-star review, as EDS had formerly been a favorite of mine. Though I am by no means a regular customer, it was always a treat to go there for my birthday and special occasions.
This review is less about the shoddy service received and more about managements unwillingness to make right a substandard service provided by their staff.
I had decided to have my nails done for a weekend away with my husband. The shellac manicure came out streaked and unappealing and I did not receive the entirety of the service I had paid for. Because of time restraints, I was unable to immediately address the issue, and also wanted to ensure that I had not misunderstood the service by checking the description on the website.
I notified the salon about the substandard service and asked them for their suggestions on a resolution. They read my message, and after 24-hours of non-response (when their site noted they generally replied within the hour), I messaged again to note my disappointment that they had chosen not to respond and requested a refund of the price I had paid for the manicure. Finally, I was messaged by an employee (not the owner) who said that the owner "prolly" had not seen the message. I was aghast that not only would an employee not notify the owner of a dissatisfied customer, but also the lack of concern by the employee and lack of communication between spa owner and their customers.
Time passed, as did the weekend, for which I had had my nails done, when I finally received a response that they would re-do my nails. At that point, a re-do was not an acceptable resolution to me. And again I waited. And waited and waited for a response. When none was forthcoming, I again expressed my displeasure and let the spa know of my intent to warn other potential customers of their lack of professionalism - perhaps in a last ditch hope that they would attempt to make things right. What I received was a simple "thumbs up" in response. It felt like a smack in the face and has soured me even more on the spa.
