Toxic work environment. Our general manager would constantly passive-aggresively bully the beauty advisors and managers to the point of team members quitting, crying on the job, or reducing hours. She also picked favorites, making it very obvious who she did and didn't value as a staff member. I watched her constantly ridicule other managers to the point of a manager walking out because of constant bullying and discouragement from herself and other managers. My salon manager not only refused to keep a professional attitude about her employees but gossiped about other salon employees openly, stalked salon employee's pages on social media without their consent, and would refuse to put my hours on the schedule even after I went over my schedule with her multiple times. Nobody at my store truly enjoyed working there and I had so many team members telling me how happy they were to quit. I did the same because I was tired of it. I was also lied to about my pay and hours, and eventually made the realization that I would not be able to financially support myself in the upcoming months had I continued to work there. That isn't to say that some employees there were a joy to work with and helped me very much, but when you're having a panic attack or passing out and your own managers walk right by you without doing anything to help, that's when you know it's time to quit.
