Do not go here for a curly hair cut if you want a dry cut. I called the store before making my appointment to ask if they do Devacuts (as advertised on the website) and they said yes, and that they cut dry.
When I arrived everyone was friendly, but my stylist obviously didn't understand how curly hair should be cut. She cut it dry at first, getting it to roughly the length I wanted but without layering, etc. Then she washed my hair and while wet, cut my layers and more length off. She also cut with my hair parted in the middle even though I told her I always part it on the side. This resulted in some really strange curls that are far too short on the opposite side from where I part it.
I asked for a shoulder length cut, with the back shorter than the front and layers. I explicitly told my stylist that the curls around my face are tighter than the ones in the back, so she might have to keep the front longer than she thinks (or cut the back shorter than she thinks). However, since she cut my hair while wet, this was not accounted for at all, and the hair in the back appears longer than the hair in the front. The back is approximately the length I wanted, but the front is far too short and well off my shoulders.
Since every advertised "dry cut" I've experienced has been completely different, I didn't really know what to do. I should have just stopped the haircut as soon as I realized she was taking scissors to my wet hair and gone somewhere else.
To the salon, please do not advertise a "deva curl cut". That is not at all what you provide. I have sent you a message to try to resolve this privately but it has been over a week and I have heard nothing. Listen to your clients who wear their hair natural. They know their hair best.
