Stay away from this establishment if you value the integrity of your hair and your money. Fernanda Macedo over promises and under delivers. She will over process your hair and double book you. Did that to my wife and all her hair is broken and brittle now because she doesn’t pay attention to her clients. She yells at her staff infront of customers and has ZERO class. Don’t expect high end results from a pompous arrogant thief! She charged my wife $3000 and left her hair unmanageable, fried, and neon colors. This woman should lose her license and have her establishment shut down. She charges ridiculous prices for extremely poor work and takes zero accountability for her actions and criticizes and ridicules you if you call her out for her joke of a “hair art” appointment. She’s extremely careless and condescending and screamed at my wife over the phone and told her “you signed a waiver so come after me!” She’s truly a disgusting person, inside and out! Stay away from this joke of a salon

My experience at Fernanda’s was the best! Been here three times so far and every time I come in, it makes me want to come back. The staff is always so kind and welcoming, plus they have great amenities like a coffee machine and snacks! Yvonne gave me an amazing haircut and root color that made me feel like a million bucks. And she’s always a pleasure to chat with! She rocks, go see her :) Pics from both times I’ve gone to see Yvonne!

I have been here three time for three different treatments and each of them have been a wonderful experience. I love every little detail of the salon, from the decoration, the customer service, the ambiance, the quality of the work and products and the end results. Here are a few things I appreciate: 1. Getting a follow-up text with a map for the parking after calling asking if they had parking 2. The snacks I was offered throughout the service, especially the chocolate-covered strawberry, and even lunch when the service was 4+ hours (hair art) 3. How spotless the bathroom was 4. How the team collaborate to give me the best result possible 5. How easy it is to checkout, e.g., leaving the tip on the credit card 6. And of course, how amazing my hair looked in every occasion Highly recommend this place!

I can’t say enough great things about this salon! I recently did a loooong hair art session, and it was so worth it. Yasmine and Luiza were INCREDIBLE! It felt more like hanging out with friends than being in a salon. With lunch and snacks provided! I expected to be bored during my session but it truly was like being with your besties. The whole experience is so luxurious and comforting, it’s so obvious every one in the salon cares deeply about what they do. You won’t find better service anywhere! They took me from black box dyed hair to rose gold in one session, and my hair feels healthier than when I walked into the salon. They not only handled my hair like magicians but they also took the time to explain how I can keep the color looking fresh and gave me exact products. From the get go, they’re very transparent about pricing which is so helpful. If you're ready to transform your hair and have a blast while doing it, book an appointment. Oh and no one in the world can do a blowout like Yasmine can, she is INCREDIBLE. Every time she touches my hair I walk out looking like a shampoo ad. I can’t wait for my next appointment! Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Hello, I highly recommend Fernanda’s Beauty salon for curly hair styling and coloring. I am reviewing after my very first visit. I visited on a busy Saturday. The salon team was super friendly and tagged teamed to get my hair done the way I wanted. The focus of the session was preventing color damage, which I so appreciate, because I am very minimalist when it comes to adding chemicals and heat to my hair. Although I had no appointments, they were able to take me in and work with me. They did amazing washing my hair taking out the chemical smells. The salon is very airy, bright, sanitary, and they cleaned throughout the day. They have off-street parking which is perfect for Somerville. My only disappointment is I’m noticing my grey strands at the front of my head have no color and there’s brassiness on the stands that frames my face. In a week, I’ll add toner and hide my greys. Overall it was a good experience. I appreciate all the girls for putting in all the work to give me the color I wanted and focusing on color damage prevention. Thank you! -Addy

I adore this salon and my stylist Yvonne! My hair has never been healthier, which is saying a lot because I've colored it for years without knowing much about proper hair care. A few months ago I was considering a drastic color change and Yvonne put so much time and consideration into exploring my options with me. We did a strand test and from there we determined what I could accomplish while keeping my hair healthy and strong. Together we found example photos, talked through long-term care based on my lifestyle, and ultimately she gave me a gorgeous new balayage color with the best blend everrrrr. The salon experience is also incredible and thoughtful. Everyone goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and valued. Pricing is transparent (they go over it all with you during your consultation/before they start services). And yes the price tag can be steep but you will absolutely notice a difference in product quality as well as staff expertise. For longer services they provide snacks, water, food orders, all sorts of fun perks. I never feel rushed, and I always learn a lot about how to better care for my hair!
