I am SO happy I went here!!!!! I live in the A2 area but for the last 6 years have been getting color/styling in Washington DC (Manuel Salon, voted DC's best stylist in 2013) since I'd been working there every month. In 2014 I'm going only every 3 months, so I need a local resource. I tried other salons that didn't compare. In the meantime, I kept hearing great things about War Paint Salon (including from a different salon, interestingly).
I thoroughly check out services before trying them, and every recommendation I'd heard about Clifton was exemplary. SO glad I've found my way to him!!!!! (He doesn't advertise, no website -he doesn't need to; he's the go-to-guy for the movie industry in Michigan). My haircut is amazing; I went back for color; it is fabulous and my hair is silky soft. Clifton is the real deal, very talented, laid back, extremely unpretentious, open and authentic with clients, kind and very funny. I noticed the other review here but it doesn't make sense. Unfortunately, I've seen people with unresolved conflicts who use review services such as Google and Yelp inappropriately - even disingenuously - against small business owners in the past. I'm writing this to make sure Google has at least ONE accurate review of War Paint Salon on the basis of professionalism.
