I was looking for years after I moved to St. Louis for a great salon to call home and finally found Terry Mathews at Mitchel James! I found her through a friend and is the absolute best certified stylist in St. Louis for extensions!!! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a stylist that pays close attention to detail and not to mention her personality makes the time fly. She’s just the BEST and the salon is pet friendly.

After 10+ years with the same great stylist, I tried Mitchell James Salon. James, the owner, was recommended by a co-worker. It was such a fun experience. I wanted a change and let him create something special for me. I went short and sassy and love it. He’s very cool and understanding. He gave me hi-lights once, but when I called to say I didn’t quite feel right with them, he had me come back and removed them—no charge. I’ve also tried their other services and had a wonderful facial with Sladjana.

I saw the same stylist for more than a decade while living in Chicago, and was nervous to try to find someone new in St. Louis. After a little bit of research, I decided to try out Mitchell James Salon and got an appointment with James. I’ve seen him 3 times now and plan to keep coming back! His color work is wonderful and his cuts are really complimentary to my face. He listens to what I’m looking for and adds in welcome options or advice to make it even better. James and the rest of the staff have been really welcoming and very knowledgeable, so I highly recommend Mitchell James Salon!

I was lucky enough to get an appointment with James, the owner, and he is FABULOUS! I went to the same stylist for 20 years, she retired, I tried a couple other places, was butchered, then James performed a hair rescue. He took my butchered coiffure and made it look good. I had a video shoot the following week, and if my hair looks good, i feel good which makes the finished product just flow. Not only is he truly talented and he can fix other people's mistakes, but he is just so nice. And his advice on coloring was spot on. I was way too light...I didn't realize until I went one subtle shade darker with a little more honey-hue that I look a lot more natural. My previous color was too light, the new shade that James created for me is so much more sophisticated and fits my personality better. He's a magician, you just can't go wrong if you sit in his chair.

I have been going to James for 5 years now. I needed a new stylist when I moved to the St. Louis area and I had a friend recommend him. I never leave unsatisfied, he's the best! He's also a really nice and charismatic person overall so that always makes it fun when you go in for your appointment. If you're looking for a new hair stylist, give him a call!
