Bed experience

DO NOT go here unless you don’t care what your kids hair looks like. It has a nice atmosphere inside and my child was entertained, but the hairdresser did not listen at all to what I asked for my son, and he left with hair that was way way shorter than my simple directions asked to keep his length. I very much regret taking him here at all and his hair would’ve been much better off if I cut it myself at home! I am very sad that my son has to grow his hair out for many months to repair the damage that was done by this bad experience. The woman’s name was “Aronica” and she either does not have much experience cutting hair, or doesn’t know how to listen to people. People don’t make the same mistake I did and schedule for somewhere else.

Loved this place! Our son turns two in about 3 weeks, so I took him to get his first haircut. His stylist, Stephanie, did such an amazing job! He looks so cute. She also did great at keeping him entertained so he actually sat still. And he loved sitting in the cute little fire truck salon chair, too. They have screens at every seat, too, so if your child wants to watch something to keep them entertained they can. I also loved the keepsake certificate with a photo and lock of hair to keep in his baby book. I 100% recommend this place and will be taking my son back for future haircuts.

The receptionist was very rude and unaccommodating. First of all, I'm aware of their late policy. If you will be 10 minutes late, they cancel your appointment and you must reschedule. That is fine, except this location is on Baldwin. You know what I mean. I called ahead to say that we might be a few minutes late, beyond the 10. Instead of working with me and accommodating me, she was rude, mentioned their policy and only offered to reschedule. My son has special needs and has always been comfortable there. It is unfortunate that they could not fit him in, even though it was only 15 minutes (again, Ballwin. 7 minutes to go a MILE). Upon arrival I was once again met with rudeness and a reminder of the policy. I'm aware of it. Now you are aware of losing a customer.

I have a daughter on the spectrum. Today I took her to another salon and she experienced a meltdown. We ended up having to leave in the middle of the haircut. I called The Hairy Elephant and spoke to Carrie, explained the situation and asked if there was anyway they could help me. She found a way to squeeze me in. From the moment we arrived, Carrie had a very calm and gentle attitude and treated my daughter with so much love. Once we left, my daughter said "this was the best haircut ever!" Carrie took a really bad situation for my daughter and made it wonderful. We are very thankful for her and will definitely be returning in the future.

Seems overpriced for the service we received. The lady was nice enough, but the haircut was not very well done.

Great place. The patience they have with little ones is unmatched. My 1 year olds hair looks great and he got to watch his favorite show while his hair was being cut. Great environment, well worth trip!
