Great place. Reasonably priced women's, men's, kid's cuts. Owner Tina is good and personable.

I called on a Saturday morning 8/9/14, and asked if they were able to take a walk in, for a formal style. I had a wedding in Cape May to attend that day, and was quite short on time. The lady who answered was very pleasant and was able to see me almost immediately. I found after arrival, that I had spoken with the owner, Tina Holden. Tina was great! She was very friendly and down to earth! She styled my hair beautifully, which is no easy task, as it is quite fine from years of bleaching. I could have talked with her for hours! She was very kind and it was evident that loved her job. As the biggest perk to me, I am a dog lover, and upon entry, I saw that she had a white mini poodle, "Vivian". Vivian was very calm and very friendly. I think she sat on the couch most of my visit, paying no mind to the passerby's... possibly watching one of her programs? ha! It was genuinely the best salon experience I have ever had: No pushy stylists, I was there early enough that I was not waiting for other clients to be finished, I had Tina's 100% attention. She even gave me a pretty little bow for my hair that matched my dress I was to be wearing that evening, knowing I was only in town for the day! I had searched several salon's in Absecon, reading mixed reviews on a lot of them, especially treatment of non regular customers. I am from Iowa and was only in town for a wedding, so unfortunately, I am unable to be a regular customer. I saw "It's a Shear Thing" while driving to my hotel, noticed the building wasn't run down or in a seedy area, so I googled/ called them up, and after my experience, I know it was the best choice I could have made. It was also great to support an owner based business, instead of a corporate business such as the chain hair salons. Tina left a lasting impression on me as well as my style on others. I received compliments from everyone I saw that night. After posting a photo to facebook, my own stylist from my home town, loved it, and was impressed as well! This is the first review I have wrote, and it is definitely well deserved! If for some reason I am ever in the Absecon/Atlantic City, NJ area, I will definitely return!
