I came in for the first time to get a color and a cut. I explained exactly that I needed my outgrown balayage retouched, possibly some lowlights put in and showed a picture of a nice blonde balayage. It seemed that the stylist understood what I wanted. I had an event to go to that evening so I asked to put in some loose waves. Without getting technical, I ended up with some freezy mess of a blow out and some orange spotty roots. I paid, went home and was extremely upset. My husband called the salon and talked to the receptionist who said she was in charge of the salon at the moment and explained my problem. The receptionist was insisting on me coming back in so they could fix it. I was hesitant because I didn't have much confidence in the stylist's skills any more and I knew that there was no way I could rebleach my hair twice in one day without damaging it more.My husband convinced me to go back after speaking to the receptionist multiple times. Eventually I came back to the salon just to walk in to a cold "Follow me" from the receptionist, who took me to the stylist. She offered to rebleach it which I declined ,and then to come back another day though she would not be there on saturday (which would be the only day I am able to make it due to working and running my business). And she finished by saying "Don't be upset, it doesn't look that bad".
I don't usually complain or try to make a scene and just move on. I understand that everybody can make a mistake and sometimes the stylists vision can be different from a clients vision, but a technically skilled stylist is something you should expect from a supposedly one of the better salons in the area, not to mention the desire to keep the clients happy and satisfied with the service from the salon managers or owners. It has been over a week since my visit, contemplating if I want to go back to let her try to fix it (or to mess it up more) to recoup the money that was thrown away or just write it off and go somewhere else to fix it, since they declined a refund. Meanwhile nobody called from the salon to find out whats going on with their extremely upset customer and to resolve the situation. As a business owner myself I believe that good customer service is a vital part of any business especially the one in the personal services industry, that is based on good communication, good reviews and clients' referrals.
