I purchased a groupon for highlights around Christmas. The stylist was very friendly and had a lot of experience. I had to pay an extra $30 for a glaze at the end which was unexpected. They also ran out of hot water when I was getting washed so I had ice cold water in the middle of winter. Apparently it happens often. I looked over these 2 things and was still happy until my hair began to get dried and I saw that my highlights did not go all the way to the root. There was about a 1/2 inch space between my root and the color, it looked like I already had regrowth and very blotchy. After trying to ignore it for a few days I contacted the salon and made an appointment to go back when the owner was there. I assumed my appointment would be with her but she was 10 minutes late and already had someone sitting in her chair. I sat with my original stylist who was very willing to fix the color. I was worried it would just look worse but was assured it was an easy fix and more highlights were added to my hair. At the end, it was helpful but didn't mask the batches of dark hair around my temples and part area. Now I am super-blond in spots and dark in others. When the owner walked over and heard that I still wasn't 100% happy, she was angry. She made me feel very uncomfortable, talking to me like I was a child and didn't understand highlights, and then stomped away and began talking to her customer about me! Needless to say I left the salon and will never go back. As a small business owner myself and a Belmar local, I was shocked at the owner's behavior. I definitely do not recommend Valdamiers. I only gave it 2 stars for the kind stylist that tried very hard to fix the problem.
