Over priced, aggressive, impatient, rushed.
First time customer. Made an appointment for my 3yo daughter for her first haircut. I gave her a pep talk and incentive to get her ready and excited. Arrived early to get her acclimated to the salon. Obviously things never work out the way you want it to but you hope a children’s salon would be more compassionate and patient to help you through this experience. Her ‘stylist’ was Rita. And immediately Rita was unimpressed and annoyed that my daughter was crying. She was very short with my daughter and physically aggressive. I was already embarrassed that we had caused a scene bc she kept crying so I refrained from making a comment in the store. My daughter calmed down b she was distracted by the lollipop and tv. The haircut was just a simple snip. I paid $30 for a snip I could’ve done at home! Rita was aggressive with my daughters head and didn’t offer me time to help comfort her through the process. All the staff showed no patience or kindness. Just made you feel like ‘that mom with crying kid,’ which I admit i was.
I ended up calling her to give her my thoughts and to kindly ask her not to treat other parents and children like she did with us. She said she did the best she could and that she will accept my constructive criticism. Quite honestly, this seemed like a very well-rehearsed response. As if she’s given the same response to many other customers in the past. And strangely, Rita, denied being the owner of Rita’s snips for pips.
