As I read the last review, I can't help but think, "Why, if this gentleman did such a horrible job, did you give such a generous tip?" I have been going to Salon 56 for the past year and have a much different story to tell about my experience there. I have not only seen the work that John does, but I have a lot of experience with it as he is my stylist at Salon 56 in White Plains. He and all of the other stylists that work there are true professionals that make their clients look and feel beautiful. The work they do is stunning. The fact that a person doesn't speak while they work, because they want to concentrate on doing the best work they can for their client, or that they need a translator has no bearing on their ability to wash, cut, color, highlight or just do hair. If I want to talk to someone, I can call my friends or family members, I don't have to go to the hair salon to to speak to my stylist. Every time I get my hair done at Salon 56, I get many compliments, I feel amazing. Their blowouts, and work in general, are better then any other place that I have ever been to, and their prices are lower than every other place in the area. I have no reservations about giving them a 5 star review, and suggest that next time you are not happy that you speak up so that what you feel was not done well can be fixed rather than going off to cry about it in your car while leaving a generous tip.

Great place for cheap cuts and dye jobs! Super nice staff too.

I drove home in tears after I gave Jon a generous tip as I would always do. He didn't speak English so his co worker did the interpreting. He seemed pleasant but how would I know because we didn't talk to each other. I said I wanted very very light highlights. Then I showed him 2 pictures of what I wanted and he seemed to understand me. Needless to say, my hair was darker than when I walked in and even had a green tint to my hair. Then my hair was so far from the 2 pictures I showed him. So short and the back of my head looks like I have a mullitt. I will have to wear a hat for a few months. I'm so embarrassed to go out. Even though everyone was nice they didn't even notice I left in tears then to boot, I got a $25.00 parking ticket . I am so disappointed and angry that I went there. I will never trust Groupon hair appointments I have to borrow money to try and fix what they did to me. So much for trying to find a new place to get my hair done and keep going back to make me feel good about myself. I know it's only hair but I work so hard for my money and I need to look good for my job and now I'm so upset I can't even fix it. Anna Pepe
