Social Worker

So after getting a great Bob Haircut a few weeks ago at the Salon I booked a " Model" appointment for color, at 9 AM. The snow came as did the ice and slush. I fell on the sidewalks rushing to the Subway. The trains were delayed, so the trip took exactly 46 minutes. I e mailed Jade, and told her I was on the way. She replied, SEE YOU SOON. Arrived at the Salon and was SENT AWAY by the pretentious Receptionist who said she ALSO had a nightmare getting in to work. . Jade, the Colorist was told I could not be her model today since I arrived at 9:28.She e mailed me saying she had NO model for the class. I had planned a THREE hour appointment for this - but had to turn around and go uptown. VERY disappointed and VERY unprofessional. As a social worker, I NEVER turn away my clients even when they are late.

Always a lovely experience here. My colorist does an amazing job and she's so fun to talk to. She gives me the best advice for keeping my hair at a good place in between visits. She offers amazing products for me to use. My stylist is also amazing and provides me with fresh and updated haircuts. The staff is always super amazing and makes me very comfortable being there, offers me water and snacks while I wait. They also play some really fun music!

This place is amazing. I’ve been coming here for maybe 5-6 years. Christie is a wonderful stylist. She always gets it right. Jennifer is a wonderful colorist. Sam Brocato himself is very friendly and a pleasure to talk to. He formulates the products himself. They all smell amazing. Over the years, I’ve tried more and more products. I love all of them. Favorites are: crown and glory hair masque, love lather shampoo, wherever whenever leave in spray (amazing), the promise land hairspray is a great hold without weighing down or over texturizing, and the sugar wave is great for a beach look. I can’t say enough great things about this place. From the ambiance to the reception staff to the assisting hair staff to the stylists and colorists right up to Sam Brocato. Never had a bad experience. Worth it. I moved out of NYC during the pandemic (now in NC), every time I come back to NY, I try to get in for an appointment.

Michelle at Sam Brocato is the absolute best! I’ve been getting highlights for years and my hair has never looked better leaving the salon. She is absolutely amazing at what she does and is beyond talented! She takes her time and makes sure she knows what your expectations are which is extremely important. Highly recommend Michelle to anyone in need of a new hair stylist in the NYC area.

I have been using Michelle Aileen and Stephen for years. They are both consummate professionals and I always enjoy the time I spend with them while they are making magic with my hair. The salon is lovely and the staff is wonderful. Professional and friendly. Always asking if you are comfortable and if you’d like a beverage. I have been so impressed with their policies during the pandemic and their strict attention to safety and detail, making my experiences there during difficult times very safe and enjoyable. - Risa

Had an amazing experience with Victoria, she did an incredible job matching my roots to the color I originally came in with. She took her time and made sure I was comfortable. She also walked me through every step of what she was going to do and what products she was applying to my hair. She recommended I also do some highlights which made my hair pop even more. It was easy to trust her and I’m really happy with how my hair came out!
