Awful human relations

I came to the salon for a hair color appt two days prior to hip surgery. I didn’t want grey roots while I was recuperating. I didn’t get a blow out as I was just going home and not going anywhere till my surgery. I asked Doreen, my colorist, where I could sit and dry my hair before leaving. She then told me that I couldn’t blow dry my own hair as it’s an insurance liability because I am not licensed! I never heard of that ridiculousness. I have been to many salons from Manhattan to Miami and often see women drying their own hair after getting color. In fact, Cactus Salon has a whole hair drying station with brushes and product if you need it. Let me further say, it was pouring rain and I said “Do I have to go out in the rain with soaking wet hair just prior to surgery?” No one seemed to care. Needless to say, I won’t be returning. A very poor way to treat a client.

Gabby did a partial highlight on October 16th and on October 20th 4 days later this is what my hair looked like (see pics where I'm wearing a black shirt) I messaged her on instagram and told her what was going on and she glazed it again. My hair continued to turn brassy and warm so she told me to book a full highlight and that she promised to fix it. I was there on Saturday from 9:15 in the morning until 4:30 pm because Gabby couldn't get my color correct. The first toner she used was too dark. She put a second toner in that turned my hair yellow and brassy and warm. She put a third toner in and at this point I needed to leave after being there all day and left completely unhappy with my color. Gabby stated there was nothing else she could do except wait a week and see if another toner would be better. Didn't offer for me to speak to a manager or even ask someone for help in correcting my color. I called on Sunday morning and spoke to Quinn and requested that another person who is better and more experienced with color fix my hair and she advised me that there would be a charge for that since it's not the same stylist as the original. For obvious reasons I don't want Gabby touching my hair ever again so I said forget it. $175.00 is a lot of money to spend on really terrible coloring. Thats on top of the $140.00 I spent on a horrible partial highlight back in October and I honestly wish I would have learned my lesson then. Instead I trusted Gabby and that was a huge mistake in my judgement. I requested a refund from the manager Melissa who said she needed to speak with the owner and they refused to issue a refund. I spent $300 instead at Hairstories in Babylon and the actual owner of that salon Chase, color corrected the mess that Gabby left of my hair. I will NEVER step foot in this salon again and am writing this review as a warning to anyone who is thinking about using them for color. Do not recommend at all. $315 wasted when I could have just gone to Hairstories. Lesson learned! It also says a lot that they offer a Groupon for this salon, where they book you with "select" inexperienced stylists/colorists. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Harry Charles is a beautiful salon, I only see one stylist her name is Gabby and she is amazing. She is so patient and really helps you figure out what the best options are for your hair. I came to her needing so much help with my hair and she handled the situation perfectly, I left the salon being so much happier .She is extremely open minded which makes the process so much easier. She is extremely talented and will get you the color you desire while keeping your hair as healthy as possible. She’s fun and energetic, she’s a great person all around. I definitely recommend anyone to see her at the salon especially if you’re looking for a little bit of color in your hair. I have never walked out of the salon unhappy I always love my hair. She is great with recommending good products that she knows will help you with your hair. 10/10 experience.

Worst manicure & pedicure I ever received. Sun Lee did my pedicure first. I brought my own comfortable toe spacers as I dislike the paper weaved between my toes. She tossed them on my lap saying she prefers to use the paper. I had to insist she use what I, the customer, prefers. Then she was gloppping thick coats on and my toes looked horrible. When I asked her to do thinner coats she told me a) it was the polish (I brought my own brand new bottle) and b) my nail beds were deformed. When we got to my manicure she cut me as she was clipping my cuticles. Not a nick, a full bloody section. When I said OW she told me I was too sensitive (as blood was running down my nail). At that point I told her outright I was completely dissatisfied with the service. To add insult literally to injury, no two nails look alike. Everyone is shaped differently and they all look horrible. She also didn't clean around my nails so it looks like a 3-yr old did them. She then charged me the full price of $55 AND accepted a $10 tip (I have to tip. I supported myself and my son when he was young as a server so it's ingrained in me). When I told the woman at the front desk about my experience, she only said just don't mention the salon because she's separate from us. I tried to find her separately from the salon but unfortunately for the salon, manicures and pedicures are listed as a service they provide. They do not state it is separate so here we are. Today was the first self-care I had treated myself to in a year as I have an extremely compromised immune system. I need a therapy session after this experience. Sun Lee is also nosy and asks many personal, intrusive questions. Pic attached was taken after Sun Lee treated it 3x because it would not stop bleeding.

Beautiful Salon...I needed a shampoo n blowout only...came out great ...w Kristina...courteous staff...very nice...highly recommend....full service salon...

So today was my first time here at this salon ..I wanted red hair with highlights. Let me tell you !! This place is amazing and the stylist I went to was the best!!! Aubrey was amazing! She did my color exactly how I wanted it! This salon is my new place! I'll be seeing you guys soon in few weeks for a touch up! :) thanks Aubrey!!!!
