I have used their services twice in the last 3 months. The first time they braided my 11 year old daughter's hair the braids started to come out after only 2 weeks. I called to ask what the policy was when something like this happens. I was told to come in and they will take care of it. When I got there I explained to the owner what happened. She agreed that this should not have happened. She wanted me to pay one of the other braiders to fix the mistake. I told her I was not paying any more money because it was not my fault the first person did a horrible job. The owner fixed the first two rows of braids and told me to ask for her when I needed my daughter's hair braided again and she would take care of me. A month later I called and made an appointment with the owner for my daughter. She told me to come in at 9 the next morning. When I called the next morning to let her know I was running about 10 min late....she told me she already had a client in her chair and it would take 2 hours to finish. Keep in mind this is Sunday, Mother's Day. I agreed to come back at 11 am. When I got there at 11 am for my new apt time, she was still braiding that clients hair. Fast forward...she did not get started on my daughter until 1:15 PM. My daughter decided she wanted her hair to be the burgundy that the last client had. I told the owner I would agree as long as it looked like the last client. I did not want anything too crazy for my daughter. She assured me that was not a problem. When I left to get lunch for my daughter (and her 2 year old who was at the shop) and came back...I noticed she was using a bright pink color hair! I was furious. When I told her that was not the same color as the last client the owner then told me the last client brought her own hair. I told her she should have told me if she did not have the same color I requested. At this point most of the back was done so there was not much we could do. Box braids take 5 hours so prolonging the process was not something I was willing to do. All in all due to her not providing the service I asked for and making me wait 4 hours I refused to pay the $160 she was charging me. Especially when she asked me to come back so that she could make good on the last braid job that I paid full price for that only lasted 1 month....she called the police on me! After sitting there for about 20 minutes and the police never came she agreed to take a lesser amount. Use this business at your own risk. They are unprofessional and do not respect your time. I would not have waited 4 hours but I am sure she knew it was Mother's Day and no where else was open.
