If you're ever in the Shawnee area and need a haircut, do not even consider Elements hair salon– not even as a last resort.
I go in, ask for the same cut I have except the top taken down to two inches and thinned out, especially on the sides. Throughout explaining what I wanted done, Ariel kept questioning my judgment. "You want the number two clippers? That's almost bald." I never asked for the number two clippers. I asked for two inches on the top. I told her that I didn't want to be almost bald and I got a buzz cut anyway because that's apparently what she wanted for me to have. I don't feel like I was listened to. If I was unclear– and I might have been– she should have asked if I had a picture or asked specifically how long I wanted it at the first sign of confusion, and not make assumptions and rub my head with the hair clippers until it was almost gone.
Upon further inspection of my completely new hairstyle, I noted that the back of my neck had been almost completely neglected. I had to take out my electric razor and trim it myself.
I've had a lot of bad haircut experiences, but this was by far the worst. I look like a high school football coach, and I did not have any intention to look like this. Now I will have to wait at least a month and spend extra money on a stylist I can (hopefully) trust to only thin out my hair, just to get it to the length that I asked for.
